Is it possible to have NO period while on the birth control pill?!
Question: Like purposely. I know of some girls that dont have their periods because they take the pill..but i thought you still get your period while on it. ANd aparently the pill also helps with acne which is a bonus. So can anyone tell me how to have no period while going on the pill? It sounds so good right now...

all u have to do is not take the pills that make u have a period and start a new pack...but if u don't want to have periods u should get on the depo-pervera it's an injection u get every 3 months but u have no periods..talk to ur doctor and he will be able to tell u which one works better for u there are a few out there...
It depends on the pill.
I was on a progesterone only pill were I had no periods at all. The problem was, I gained about 20 pounds and got the mother of all migrains on a regular bases. Acne was not an issue at that time of my life. The problem is, you HAVE to take it at the same time every day!!!! You never stop. It is soooo unforgiving. If you miss you dose for the day or are off by more than a couple of hours, you wonder all month long,'Did I miss my period because of the pill or because...."
I had a 18 month old and little sleep. Missing did happen.
I went on to the Allesse and lossed the weight almost immediately, had no headaches and now have acne problems that it helps with. Have periods but I feel better with this pill.
Now please realize I'm summerizing because this was over an 8 year period and I tried about 6 different pills in between. The be honest though, having no periods is not all it's cracked up to be....JMHO.
Having no period is absolutely possible when most forms of hormonal contraceptives (pills, the patch {Ortho Evra}, and the vaginal ring {NuvaRing}). To do this one must simply either not take four days - one week off (for 21 or 24 day pill packs, the patch, and the ring) or forgo the four-seven days of sugar pills at the end of 28 day pill packs. This method is not officially recognized by the FDA, but is generally considered safe by most physicians. There is also a pill - Seasonale - that is taken continually for 3 months and then one week is taken off for menstruation. This results in only four periods a year. One benefit to using Seasonale instead of using the other methods mentioned is that insurance-wise it is designed to be taken this way so it will be less of a hassle to get coverage. You should talk to your doctor/gynecologist about your desire to have no more periods and she can set you up with a good low-dose pill for you to take continuously. It is also preferable to use a mono-phasic (one dose) pill for this purpose than a bi- or tri-phasic (like Ortho-tri-cyclen Lo) because monophasic pills will keep your hormone levels more constant and are less likely to cause breakthrough bleeding while being used continuously. Edited to add: Keep in mind that if you are sexually active, you won't have the most reliable sign of pregnancy - lack of menstruation - to alert you. When using birth control continuously, it is even more important to be vigilant about using your method properly. Condoms should also of course be used to prevent STIs and can provide added pregnancy protection.
There are some pills where you get no period I like Lybrel is a pill that stops it, and Seasonale is a pill where you only get 4 periods a year. On a normal pill (or similar hormonal method) where you have three weeks of hormones and one week off, you can just skip the week off and keep taking hormones in order to not get a period. Some women get breakthrough bleeding though. Usually women get a monthly bleed on the pill, if they take them as directed including the week off, but it's not a real "period", so it's usually lighter and less painful etc. (this depends on the woman though). the pill can help with acne but doesn't always.
