Post Partum Question! Please help!?!

Question: Now, i don't want to sound gross or anything, but i am a bit embarrassed to bring this up to my doctor as he is a male.

My son is 7 months old, and after i had him, my vagina hurt really bad, like really achy, and if i tightened the muscles, by doing kegel excersises, it felt a bit better.

But when when me and my hubby have sex, especially if its more then a half hour, i hurt so bad there and it wont go away till the next day.

What is this?? and what can i do to make it stop?
I cant take aspirin, tylonol doesn't work, i am already on prescription pain killers as i have a bunch of back and joint problems, but nothing seems to help.

I even tried sitting with a heating pad in between my legs.
Please help, as this is really making me not want to have sex, and i know that will put a slight strain on our relationship.
We usually only have sex about once a week, as i also have cysts on my ovaries, and it hurts sometimes, but he does understand.

Thanks alot! Sorry i started to babble!!!

I had similar experience with you after I gave birth to my daughter. I had natural tear (second degree) from childbirth. The doctor took like half an hour to sew me up down there. When I tried to have sex with my hubby, it feels like something is being torn inside and down below, I was not sure what the problem was, I tried to look at myself in the mirror, and I didn't see anything that could cause the pain. So I made an post-natal appointment with my doctor (she is a woman) when my daughter was 2 and half months old, and I asked her to do a pap for me and take a good look inside. She said everything looks fine, all the muscles have healed nicely. That was reassuring for me to hear. I was having the idea that the doctor didn't sew me up properly as many layers of the muscle can tear, and if wrong layers are sewed together, you can imagine the pain...

I still had the discomfort for about 2 month, then i was pain free with sex.

I think having pain with sex after child birth is normal and for sure the discomfort can make you hate sex coz it hurts. The pain after child birth can depend on several things did you have tears? or episiotomy? but you are now 7 months post natal, plus you have a back condition. I think you should make a appointment with a female doctor to check. I personally think that females are more gentle than male doctors, and plus, the guys never went through labour, what do they know?
