Any natural remedies for period cramps? And, also, is this normal..?!
Question: I take Midol when I'm on my period, but it wears off and hour before school lets out. My school has strict rules about not bringing any medication to school and the nurse can only give out prescription medication with a doctor's note, etc. I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to ensure that my last hour at school, until I can get home and take a dose of Midol, won't be so unbearable, because there are times when I have REALLY bad cramps. Like, foods to avoid or eat, etc. And, also, is it normal not to want to eat anything when you're on your period? I never have cravings or anything; I just don't want to eat, and I'm not sure whether to be worried.

When on your period you should avoid salt, and caffenine. Salt and Caffenine triggers the cramps.
Get a warm pack and put it on your stomach
pamprin
Do not take asprin. Asprin actually upsetts the stomach more
take a hot bath
exercise
sleeping.
I'd recommend a longer-lasting painkiller, such as Aleve. It's not specifically for periods, but it should kill the pain for eight hours at a stretch. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to ease cramps without painkiller. There are teas that you can make that are supposed to help with menstrual symptoms (you can definitely find them at organic and whole food stores), although I have no idea how/if they work.
An alternative is to get on birth control. It's supposed to ease such menstrual symptoms as horribly bad cramps.
As for your eating question, women react differently to their periods. I, for example, want to eat everything in sight.
There is no natural remedy for period cramps, except conception.
