Why are women so deluded to the fact that unprotected sex will not lead to the i!

Question: Sometimes things go wrong, with the best intentions things can still go wrong. It could even happen to you!

There are many, many issues which contribute to the number of girls coming on her worrying they may be pregnant. Education is huge part of the problem, we cannot completely blame people for their lack of knowlege if they went to a school where they were told that condoms are bad for you and can give you cancer (Seriously I know girls who went to 'prestigious' school where they were taught this in the sex education curriculum).

Another issue is that sometimes girls feel pressured into doing something for a guy. There are guys out there who hate condoms and simply don't want to wear them. Some girls have self worth issues and have trouble speaking up and telling their partner that they want to use protection.

Furthermore, with the best of intentions, sometimes condoms fail. It's happened to the best of us.

Many of us, well educated young women, still find ourselves in that 'inevitable' situation, and it is great that we can come here and get some advice as a jumping off point when we may be feeling a little down and quite stupid for our actions.

Women? You make it sound like they're having sex with themselves. What about the guys?

I think there are a lot of irresponsible people in the world today, having sex, unprotected, getting STD's, getting pregnant and wondering why.

Lack of education - so much of it is abstinence only or missing altogether. A lot of women don't really understand how their own bodies work. And if people don't want to believe the worst, they won't.

Either that or base stupidity.

In response not only to your question but the other replies, it's not women, but GIRLS. In an hour alone of answering questions on the women's health section, I've come across more 14 year olds having sex then women 18 and older. And what's sad is that at their age and the absolute lack of knowledge these young girls have not only about their bodies, but a male's body and the anatomy and consequences of sex (which are INCREDIBLY important in forming a healthy opinion on sex), they shouldn't be having sex to begin with! They don't know any better and it's really kind of frightening that they choose a yahoo answers forum to ask such important questions rather than consulting a physician. Of the many answers I've posted to questions here in the past few days alone, about 95% of them URGE someone to consult their family physician! For goodness sakes! People in general seem to let their health take a backseat to their fast lives. And while it's annoying and scary that these "women" are fairly ignorant about most things sex and bring it to the yahoo forum, you really have to try and give them your best advice. Have you seen some of the absolute uneducated crap some of these other KIDS advise? It's revolting and makes you PRAY that these girls won't listen. I've already reported a few answers for being so worthless. It's really a lose/lose.

Seeing the teens here REALLY make me reconsider bringing my own child into this world.

your question is very biased, as you are a guy, it takes two to tango and there are alot of guys who will actually say to a woman they prefer sex without a condom as it feels better etc. it takes two people to create a baby, and if a guy has sex without a condom surely he must also know about the inevitable? if a woman has unprotected sex and catches something, as you are saying, this means she has caught it from another man, so where did he get it from in the first place? from having unprotected sex, so you see all stds are a vicious circle and it is ludicrous to blame just one sex for this, i have to also say women get the raw deal with stds and cervical cancer, which is a big killer, is also a result of sexual practises
