Asked this the other day but..?!

Question: For the last few months i have been gettinga yellow discharge.
It is not like it all through the month and seems worse just before and after my period.
I have been to the doctor and she has treated me for thrush. But she says that she feels it is hormonal and does not seem concerned at all.
I am on the contraceptive pill microgynon 30(do not know if this is relevant)
The discharge does not smell.
Any ideas what it could be. Sensible answers only please

It sounds normal to me, especially as you're on the pill, which often causes changes in discharge. As long as it's not itchy or smelly, it's fine. (unless you think you may have an STI, in which case it's definitely worth getting tested).
One thing you mustn't do is 'douche', or try to wash out your vagina. This is about the worst thing you can do to encourage a yeast infection, which is itchy and very annoying.
Just relax, you're fine.

discharge is the body's way of cleaning itself out
which is probably why you are getting it just before and after
your period..

Douche-no joke..it will clean your body out so that your body
will not have to produce the discharge.

I used to have that problem as well.

Good luck and have a wonderful day :D

Your doctor said it was fine, we don't know what is going on with your poonany any more than A DOCTOR WHO EXAMINED YOU

You have been to the GP and she can't find any thing , so I wouldn't worry about it. If it gets worse or there is a "smell" to it go back to your GP.

Listen to your body- maybe it's telling you it needs a break from the pill ?
Why did your doctor treat you fro thrush when she thought it was hormonal ??
Have a live yogurt every day - that will help to balance up your body too.

Is it thick?? it may be because of the pill, im on monofome and i get that sometimes, its not painful and doesnt last long. i really dont think its anything to worry about.

Mine does not smell either, an i do not have thrush, so the doctors prob right. Just hormonal, everyone gets it.

I have never personally had that problem but maybe it could be a yeast infection. you could look into that as a possibility. Its normal to have discharge, and to be dry down there and having unprotected sex since i assume you are since you're on the pill will cause this infection. Or look up side effects for your specific pill and it may be possible that it causes your problem.
