The answer is not simple at all. Most women who are chronically anorexic do lose their periods because of the amount of time they have been mistreating their bodies (the hormomes that control the period get thrown off balance). However, a person can still be anorexic and get a period. What determines whether you are anorexic or not is a medical evaluation where your weight, height and how many calories you ingest per day are taken into account. Please see a doctor as this is a serious disorder that cannot simply be wished away. Good luck!

Absolutely.

yes to both

Yeh your period stops because your body is too concerned about keepin u alive rather than creating life. Everything kind of shuts down.

yup. Learned it in health class

yes. just like any other illness(mental or physical) you don't have to have all the symptoms.
the main ones are thinking you are fat when others say your not. and starving yourself to stay/get thin.
i was anorexic and bulimic as a teen. luckily for me my mom was able to get me to stop. but it has messed up my metabolism

are you confusing anorexic with anemic??? If you are not eating healthy by choice and look like a skeleton than you are anorexic. If you are anemic, which is low iron, you can still have menstruation. But need to take a multivitamin w/iron to perk you up and make you feel better. You need to see your doctor for either one of these of course. And remember, you are beautiful from the inside out! hope this helps you....now go take a vitamin, eat your veges and fruits and remember that you are beautiful!!!

Yes you could be anorexic even if you still have your periods. It just means it could get alot worse.
