Is a paracervical block a painful procedure? It's for a D&C.?!

Question: this is not for an abortion.

Answers: this is not for an abortion.

Paracervical blockade may be used as a means of reducing pain during the first stage of labour.
Labor pain can be effectively blocked by interrupting the transmission of pain sensation as it passes through or close to the cervix. This is called a paracervical block.

D&C can be performed in an operating room using para cervical anaesthesia i.e. local anaesthesia ( to cervix).

No it not painful, but it reduces pain. ( anaesthetic ).
