it really depends on the girl. i have a friend that has a really light flow and has no cramps. i on the other hand tend to get bad cramps and i have a heavy flow. try not to worry or think about it to much. i know thats really really really hard to do. i was 14 when i got my period (i'm 16 now) and before i got it, it was constantly on my mind. it is normal to wonder about it though. thats kind of a tricky topic to bring up. if you feel comfortable, tell your mom, "you know mom, i'm a teenager now and i know some people who have their period already, i was wondering if you could tell me a bit about it". personally, i was waaay to uncomfortable to bring that up with my mom. i would also check out some websites www.beinggirl.com is a good one. and read some books about the subject. now that you're a teenager, i would keep a pad on hand just in case you get it at school. if you feel wet down there, excuse yourself to go to the bathroom. stay strong!

Yes...
It doesnt hurt (becides the cramps) and there is nothing to be scarred of
its just very annoying

it dosnt hurt its just a totaly pain in the A$$!

it can suck, but you learn to just deal with it. cramps and back pain can be annoying too, but that's what hot water bottles and painkillers are for!

The pain won't be anything you can't handle. Some girls have bad cramps and some don't notice them at all. My 16 year old has a low tolerance for pain and she has bad cramps 2 days out of the month - they often make her curl up in a ball and cry. Midol helps - warm compresses and sleep -it's nothing to be afraid of - it prepares you for childbirth in your older years. It's only an inconvenience not torture.

I know it is.
Nothing to be scared of,
But no you cant nothing I heard of

If there is some one let me know phlease lol.

For most woman, yeah, it pretty much sucks. It just makes you feel blah for like the whole week. But... do not fear... embrace your womanhood! It's just a normal, natural part of being a woman. The only part that hurts about it is cramps and some people get them worse than others... some people don't get cramps at all. I only experience cramps on the first day of my period and a little aleve or midol cures that in no time. Just some tips... drink lots of water, stay active, or take a hot shower. There's lots of things to make your period less uncomfortable and people on here are chalk full of advice to help ya out.

Yeah, it's more annoying than anything else. I've had pretty heavy cramps at times but Ibuprofen and heat help with that, it's not a big deal.

It depends a lot on the woman. The bleeding part itself doesn't hurt at all. Many of us get cramps, which feel like a stomach-ache located right under or below the belly-button. Lack of certain vitamins can make cramps a lot worse, as can a sedentary lifestyle. If you're active, eat lots of fruits and veggies and get enough water, your cramps shouldn't cause a major problem. If they do, go see an OB/GYN.

Well I reckon it sucks, but it's mostly just annoying and discomfort. The cramps can be bad, and it's irregular at first (but that means that theres more time in between them, which is good), but it's not as bad as you seem to be afraid.

Its just one of those things you deal with like if you get a headache... you deal with it.... Its not torture, its weird dealing with it the first few months but other then that you just get right into the swing of things... cramps are nothing that medicne cant take care of... you will be ok :)

it doesnt hurt but its really annoying and usually it is very light the first time

Yeah. The acual menstual cycle doesn't hurt. But cramps can! Only some girl suffer from cramps. There are home remedies that can help, a hot bath, a hot water bottle, and over the counter drugs ( advil, ibuprofil, other stuff ) I think first periods are light....so dont worry. If you do leak though, ask your teahcer to go to the bathroom, and go to the nurses office, to call someone to get you extra pants! I hope you will have a great expirience with your FIRST period!! =]

Hope I helped....

it doesnt hurt that bad and ive never seen anyone with a blood stain on their shorts so dont worry as long as you change your tampon or pad regularly you should be ok! all it is is a big pain in the butt. it gets annoying after a while. and dont be scared. theres nothing to be scared of

At first it may seem painful as your getting use to your body going through something new, but after a while it won't be as big of a deal. Sometimes you can get craps, but not all people get them, so I wouldn't worry about it that much. It can be annoying at times if it appears at a time you don't want it to, but you get use to that as well, and as you get older there are medicines that can help to control that. Don't be scared to get your's its really not that big of a deal, really the hard part is just getting use to your body doing new things in the first few times you have it.

your first couple of periods are really light so you dont have to worry about it going through. but yes periods do hurt majorly for some people (like me) for some people it will be very heavy but wont last very long. mine only goes for 4-5 days and usually people with lighter periods it will go for ages. But if you havent got it yet i would reccomend putting some pads in purse or something in your bag so you will be prepared.

It doesnt hurt unless you get cramps.

It's VERY uncomfortable. It can be stinky/odor from time to time. Sometimes you get UNBEARABLE.

MENSTRUAL CRAMPS!! well, you can run it off and it only lasts for a day

note that any tummy aches could be a sign that your period is going to start soon. start carrying pads around with you just incase, or even wear light panty liners so that you don't stress about it too much.
i never had period pain much when i first started, but if you do have pain, talk to a dr to get some pain relief or when your on the pill that will help pain too...

lol how old are you?

ya sucky...but its not like every1 says...i'm a little sore but i meaen, i'm okay xD

i couldn't tell u, i am a guy. yiur body though will probably get used to it
