Why does my period seem different when I use a tampon instead of a pad?!

Question: When I use a pad - my period seems to last the full 7 days. And I still shed quite a bit of blood toward the end. When I use a tampon - the flow of my period seems to be quite less by the 3rd day, and I only need to use a shield for the rest of the week - that really sees either light flow or none at all. What gives??

It takes about 24 hours for blood to get from your uterus to the outside of your body, so when you use a tampon you are soaking it up earlier, so your period will seem shorter. Exercise (if that's why you're wearing a tampon) can also speed up the flow. It's the same amount of blood, though!

Tampons contain magic. This magic will not only shorten your period, but may also cause you to become a wizard. Don't say I didn't warn you.

we should probably also warn you that your wizad powers will not extend beyond opening peanut butter jars with no hands, and bleeding out your vagina for a few days every month. because clearly, you are the only person in the world ever to do something so strange and perverted.

Its just coincidence.
