Should I be concerned that my new boyfriend owns a lot guns?!
Question: I have been dating a guy for a few months and I really like him. He is sweet and funny and has a great career. However, he recently showed me a huge gun collection he keeps in a cabinet in his basement. He must have 20-30 guns. He is a hunter so I guess this is not unusual but some of the guns looked like Ak-47s and assault rifles. He says he just enjoys shooting and collecting but I am a little concerned. Is he some sort of psycho and just not letting on? Should I be concerned? On the plus side I guess I don't have to worry about someone messing with me when I am with him.

You are stereotyping all gun owners by assuming that he is a psycho for owning a large collection of firearms. Normal people own guns, too. Have him take you shooting with you one time; it might put you at ease.
My boyfriend is almost 19, has 3 rifles, and is the sweetest guy I have ever met. He just happens to be really into guns. Don't let his hobby change the way you feel about him. You should only feel uncomfortable if he uses his guns irresponsibly or threatens you with one.

i wouldnt worry to much, if they look like hunting guns then there probably used for hunting.
if you get some sort of weird phycotic vibe off him go with your gut.
But i highly doubt you have any reason to be worried.

no, don't be concerned, its ok for him to have guns. but be careful, 20-30 guns is REALLY large amount of guns to own...
dont be supprised when the ATF knock on his door.
just ask yourself, if you ever wanted to leave him how would he react? guns + temper = disaster
