Answers: i just got my period on thursday .

me too! that happened to me. I can help. Its fresh in my memory cuz I just got it less than a month ago. Trust me I'm so shy I was afraid to ask my mom for cleanser (I used to use soap) and lip gloss! lol
What I thought of doing:
Make up/ find some health class worksheets on internet about periods, ask mom for help, and then say, by the way, I think this is happening to me, could it be my period?
Write her a note or email.

This is what I did, cuz I had to hurry before my brother got home from math class:
Go to the bathroom, wipe, and then either tell your mom or show your mom: "there's pink stuff in the toilet." (not as embarrassing, it said it all, didn't even have to mention the word period. )
when i told her, she was happy, got me pads, and made my favourite food.
And there's not much to be scared about. All females get periods... it becomes a normal part of life. Your mom can't yell at you, she might be happy for you, that you're growing up. don't hide from your mom, cuz letting her find out is even more embarrassing. you need her around to help you with growing up. besides talking about periods might be akward for her too, she'll appreciate that you told her. If you are afraid she'll embarrass you, explain that the topic is uncomfortable.

tell your mom or a friend..... its the easiest thing.

tell ur mom

seriously so was everyone else who ever got their period your mom knows your gonna get it the least she'll wanna do is go get you some tampons and pads.

Unless you want to go to the store and get the stuff yourself.

if you have a grocery list write pads and tampons on it or leave the underware somewhere only she found find it with a little note. shell get it. remeber: she has her period too and its completely normal. congrats!!

unless you want to go through all this on your own, you should tell someone. when i told my mom, i kinda brushed it off like it didn't matter at all, but i was glad for her help and support

its not as bad as u think it is. seriously, telling her will help u in the long run. i mean ur going to have it majoirty of ur adult life and ur going to have qusetions later on. so just tell your mom. whats teh worse shell do?...laugh at u? yeah no. haha she'll understand...she went through it too.

ok I know how hard it is to tell your mom but i didn't tell my mom for 3 days and she just found out and we had to go through the same talk. If you don't want to tell your mom send her an e-mail or write a note and put it someone she looks often. It is the easiest thing and she knows how you feel and knows how to help you. She will find out sooner or later so make it sooner. Don't be scared to talk to your own mom.

tell someone. it will help. and just make sure you got all of your supplys. :D

Why should you be afraid to tell your mom? You have to stock up on pads/tampons or whatever you're comfortable with. And, you should probably just tell your mom that there was blood on your underwear, and if you don't tell her, she'll find out sooner or later, from the laundry.

Well let me tell you something, I had my period for four months, and I didnt want to tell my mom. Although I planned telling her for a hwile, whenever I was about to I chickened out. Just tell her, she wont make a big deal about it. Especially if you tell her before school one day, then you will have to run out the door.

You really need to tell her, if something goes wrong with it.. She needs to know so she can do her best to help. Its not that bad once its over!

Just talk to ur mom. She will understand because it happened to her too! if u really feel that u can't tell ur mom then tell a friend or a family member you trust. Just don't sweat getting ur period! it happens to all women wether we want it to or not.

Good Luck!!!

I wasn't afraid to tell my mom, I was really embarrassed to tell her. But I did, and of course she made a big deal of it and I got more embarrassed. Find the right moment and tell her, it'll be fine. Trust me she knows all to well about how that'll feel for you. I'm wishing you luck...It happens to every girl, your growing up...

just tell her because she had 2 go through it herself.when i first started i was scared 2 but u should't worry about it

Tell your best friend! Or someone you really trust like an aunt, cousin, etc.
I told my mom but I told her not to tell anybody! And she didn't! (I was afraid to tell my mom as well... But tell her! She won't eat you!) If you don't want to tell her now, you can tell her later.

lol i know how you feel, when i started my period i didnt tell my mum, i was too scared. I know shewasnt going to do anything like shout at me lol, but i just felt it was too random and discusting to say! So, i started leaving hints lol, if i had a bit of blood on my underwear i would leaveit for her to wash so she would know, or, one of the toilets in my house doesnt flush well and sometimes i would use that to show the blood and stuff. I know its sick, but that was what i was willing to do just so i didnt have the convo with her lol
but my mum is not that silly, she didnt need the hints, she noticed that i was getting moody and stuff over random things :P
Although, i told my best friend so she was helpful as well
so now she knows.. but i have still never told her, although i really want to!
But anyway, i think you should tell her cos it will be a lot easie, you wont have to buy all of your own supplys like i did and everything
good luck xx

everyone probably says to go tell your mom but i know you want some different opinions so i would still say to go tell your mom.i mean your gonaa have to tell her one day or if you really cant tell her than tell her when your ready.
good luck :)

Ok, I'm breaking the "girls only" rule...

But honestly, your mom is probably looking at you and wondering when it is going to happen.

You can go buy the things you need on your own, but really, there isn't any reason not to tell her. I'll bet she is wondering if she should ask you.

Didn't i just answer this question? lol I know how you feel but it's fine.

i was afraid to tell my mom too! but she is the best person to tell and she will be the most understanding. it's what moms are there for, to help you with things like this! don't be embarrassed everyone goes throught it!!

hey you need to tell your Mom, for many reasons. First reason being, I was bleeding and my friend told me it was my period, turns out it was not my period at all but something serious. Just tell her, hey Mom i think I started my period. She will tell you all about it, how you will know when it is going to come and when and how long you will be on it. show you the pads or tampons, ect. She will not be mad at you in any way what so ever. It is a natural and normal part of life. Plus due to medical reasons you need to let her know. You don't want her telling your doctor no she has not started her period yet. Than you have to correct her, she will really be mad for you not telling her. There is really no reason for you to be afraid to tell her. Or are you worried she is going to say oh great we better get you on some BCP thats all we need is you running around and winding up pregnant? Do you have that kind of Mom?
