What's the difference???!

Question: Ok I know the difference between a c-section and normal delivery. But last week at school, we had a speaker and she mention how doctors are making decisions for women now a days and pressure them into having more c sections......

so my question is....what's so bad about a c sention?? is this a way of controlling women's bodies???

Just curious.

C-sections take a heck of a lot longer to recover from, and can cause complications (like infections). Not that natural birth is a walk in the park, but generally women who give birth vaginally are up and about a LOT faster than women that had c-sections.

Plus, why have surgery--and end up with a scar--if you can avoid it? Seems silly to me...

sometimes you have to have a c sention and no its not a way of controlling there bodys sometimes if you give brith normal you could kill the baby

Well, a C-section is a surgery. It involves cutting the abdominal wall (through the muscles and the uterus). It requires much longer recovery time and there is a greater chance for infections. It also requires more drugs, which can lead to more complications.

If it is medically necessary, then the benefits obviously outweigh the risks. This should be the only time it is done, though.

A lot of doctors are pushing for C-sections because it is easier for them. They don't have to wait for nature to take its course... they can determine when it is done. My first doctor was pushing for a C-section simply because it was New Years weekend, and he had a party he wanted to get to.

to be honest, i dont know why doctors fuss so much over the type of birth a woman should have. i understand that a handful of women are too fagile and small but from the experience i seen my mum go through i would never go thru a c section in my life if i can help it. my mum had twins last an d thats why they operated, but after that she sweats more and smells more, her periods are irregular and blobby, back pain and she gets sharp pain along her scare in the cold.- she only really felt fully healed about 4 years after birth.
I believe normal birth switches things on/off when the baby comes out and helps the body to heal and balance the hormones better and quicker. also as painful as it is, i think it helps a woman feel more like a mother after giving birth.
hope it helps.

C-sections are a major surgery and involve alot more complications. I personally have had two c-section and they are really not that bad in my opinion. I recovered in two days after my first one and in only one day after the second. I had to have the first one in an emergency situation. The second one was my choice because the first one went so well. I think that it is always better to have your baby naturally if possible but c-sections are there in case an emergency arises. However, I agree with the answer to your question that states that doctors are pushing c-sections because of selfish reasons. If a scheduled section is performed, he doesn't have to waste his precious time waiting for you to deliver on your own.

it depends on the women. sometimes c sections are risky for the woman, but sometimes its healthier for the baby... it depends on each individual.

I know this sounds crude, but iv been in 2 delivery rooms where the doctors mentioned them, and it had nothing to do with health, it was so it would take place faster, which gets on my nerves because the babys not in any danger... it';ll come out when its ready to come out.

not because they have somewhere to be.

its a really shifty topic
