How long should a woman bleed after vaginal birth?!

Question: I had a baby two weeks ago and I am breastfeeding I was told that breastfeeding helps to shorten your time for bleeding. After the first week my bleeding seemed to be subsiding but after trying to resume my normal activivities my bleeding has increased and I dont know if i should be concerned.

It takes 6 weeks for your body to recover form giving birth. The bleeding should subside gradually you will still have some discharge for awhile. If you increase your activity to soon you will start to have increase in bleeding. The things you need to be concerned with are a fowl smelling discharge. Heavy bleeding soaking through a pad in less than an hour, fever and abdominal pain. You can always contact a nurse at your hospital. They are there to help with these question. Take care and Good Luck with your new baby

You maybe like me, I bleed about a week after then stopped about 2 days. Then started again, doctor said I was just starting my period.

Generally speaking, bleeding should be controlled the same day that you delivered. Any additional bleeding should be concern enough to talk to your Doctor.

slow it down!!!!
you are tearing everything back open!!!
warning slow everything down or everything is never going to heal.

at least 2 weeks,,,most women has it for 30-40 days
