I usually put on foot up on the toilet and angle it a little bit, and if you're using the one with an applicator, push it in as if you were giving a shot. It shouldn't hurt and you want it to feel comfortable, it may take a time or two to get it right.
Follow the instructions in the package. There are pictures and everything.
Info is on the side of the box. If having probs ask your mom for help or a DR.

ok u need to look at the instruction paper that comes with them..every tampon is different and u dont wanna do somethin wrong....
read the leaflet inside the packet that will show you the proper way to put one in hun xxx =)
stick it in and push on the applicater... there are directions on the box with pictures too
I recommend swallowing them whole that absorb more that way!

Look at the instructions, carefully and talk.. to your mum! I was thirteen, fourteen.. when, I tried them out and ended up, doing it wrong. Luckily, I managed to get the cardboard out, lol! My mum, had told me.. of course, but.. I obviously, didn't get it all. Make sure, you know and always wash your hands before and after. Most tampons, usually come with some instructions. Look at the diagrams and make sure, you understand.

first you put the tampon inside you..
then you hold the top of the tampon...and with your other hand push the bottom of the tampon inside you and take the top of the tampon out....
there are instructions in the box..it should have a pic showing you how to do it..

Use the instructions on the box. the first time can be a bit daunting, try using a mini flow tampon first until you get used to it as sometimes you can tense your muscles making it hard to insert so relax. You should not be able to feel it once it is inserted properly and never wear for more than the recommended time due to risks of toxic shock. But you will find your period easier to deal with than sticking to towels welcome to the joys of womenhood
Take the wrapper off and then take the tampon and shred it up. Shove the torn up shards of cotton in your vagina and when they get soaked use them as a garnish in a salad.
If you buy a pack of tampons they have very detailed instructions I would reccomend tapax regular for your first time :-) The website below also has some tips. The biggest tip I can give you is find a comfortable position, take a few deep breaths, relax and try to insert it. Don't worry if you don't get it right the first time, it takes practice, just try again. I know it's kind of scary the first time, but trust me after a few times it becomes easy.

the best way to start is buying the ones with applicator they are verry easy to use. and they are instructions on the box so read them. you really don't need luck it's naturally easy. so go ahead.

I used tampons since my first period....but I had older sisters and thought little about it. I just takes practice to learn how to insert them correctly. The best tip I can give you is that they are not suppose to hurt if they are inserted correctly. Hold onto the string and use the kind with an applicator--the applicator stays outside your vaginal opening and you push the actual tampon upward. If it's uncomfortable once you have inserted the tampon....tug on the string and remove it. You'll get the hang of it. I can't imagine using anything other than tampons and love the freedom that wearing tampons provides. Don't stress about it as there's nothing to be nervous about. Good luck
