if your tampon is uncomfortable it is is because you arent putting it in right. make sure you are relaxed and that you are pushing it in far enough. also, dont use a tampon with a higher absorbency any more than you need.in other words, dont use a super when you are only spotting, etc. that will cause a lot of discomfort. otherwise, you can always try always brand. they have the really thin ones that do an even better job than the thicker ones. good luck

u will b cool with a slender size

Ask your mum to get you a pack in a smaller size.
They can come in different sizes for different women.
Dont panic, just discuss it with your mum and have a thorough look on the shelves.
Good luck x

Yeah, you would be better with a slender size, especially if your young and new to your period; it won't be too heavy.

the size of tampon refers 2 the amount of ur flow, so its no gd putting in a aregular if u hardly have anything, i'd suggest the flow below, or just leave it a while until u know wt flow ur period is averagely 2 then find the tampon which is right 4 u xXx

Sometimes when your tampon is not in far enough you will feel a little uncomfortable. Just make sure you put it in all the way. The different size tampons are ment for different period flows. Going from light to heavy. But if a smaller tampon is more comfortable then go with that.

Sounds like it's more of a length issue than width if it's hitting your cervix. (You said cervix/vulva which are two opposite things - the cervix is at the top of your vagina, the vulva is the outside of your vagina, not sure which you meant) Usually if the tampon is far enough up, you won't feel it. Maybe try a shorter tampon, the o.b. ones are pretty small.

Sizes go by absorbency, (like when you have a heavy period you use super when its lighter you use the light ones) not on how big your vagina is so, you should really be okay with any size. If it feels uncomfortable that usually means you don't have it in right. Plus since its only your 3rd period you'll probably have to get used to wearing them, but the discomfort should go away.

Don't worry. I started using tampons from the start because i also thought that pads felt like wearing diapers. Try getting a few different brands and sizes and try them all out. See what works best for you every girl and every brand is different. It can also feel better or worse depending on how you put the tampon in, read the handout that comes with the box, that may give you some good hints. Try everything, you'll find what works best for you. Good luck!

The vagina is an amazingly elastic organ. Consider that a full term baby passes through it. You should be able to find a comfortable tampon. Look for one with a plastic applicator. Some are shorter than others. Also, you might want to stay away from the ones designed for heavy flow days until you get used to the feeling of wearing one. The pressure would be on the cervix, not the vulva, by the way. Having to pull out a tampon a "tiny bit" defeats the purpose of wearing one. You might also try using some feminine lubricant, like K-Y Jelly, to ease them in. Don't use petroleum jelly; it's for external use only.
When I started out, the only tampon I could use was Pursettes because they were so short. Unfortunately, they did not have an applicator, so insertion was a real pain! Good luck.

slenders are the best invention ever

Sounds like the tampon is not getting inserted far enough. Try to relax, aim for the small of your back. If you still seem to hit your cervix, aim a little lower or a little higher. Your uterus may be tilted slightly.
Never use a tampon with too much absorbancy. A slender tampon refers only to shape, not absorbancy. With a higher absorbancy, the tampon will expand more. You may want to go with a shorter version, but may still need to insert further.
Hope this helps!
