Answers: at night my period always goes onto the sheets how can I make sure it doesnt?

Wear a tampon AND a pad on heavy-flow nights.

(The person below there who says to ignore me is mistaken...I am 42,have had my period for 30 years, and have always worn a tampon on the 2 heaviest nights when I sleep.I change it when I wake up in the middle of the night. So that 'Vote Obama 08' person can STOP SHOUTING NOW!!!!)

i wear overnight pads.
& then i put a red towel underneath me;]

hi, i always used to get this problem, so i started wearing a tampon for a really heavy flow and a sanitary towel n if i wake up in the night i will change it again.. i dont have the problem anymore as i'm on the implanon implant...i know how u feel!!! v embarassing!

What are you using? Not tampons I hope as it will if you are. If you're a heavy bleeder you need to get some 'super plus' or night time' towels, I used to bleed so heavy a few years ago that I started getting up in the night at a set time to make sure I could 'change' to try and prevent it, exhausting!

I think this is something all women will symathise with as it happens to all of us, except those lucky enough to have a light bleed. Apart from ensuring you use adequate towels there isn't much you can do.

hi
have you tried the really big nightime always pads, also try to change your pad at the very last minute before you go to bed.
other than this i cant help.

i have very heavy periods and i always wear tampon, night time sanitary towel and a pair of pj bottoms.
and you only get TSS if you wear a tampon for over 24 hours.

I wear a pad (NOT a pantyliner) and two pairs of undies because when I sleep I move alot and my undies and pj pants move to. This makes the pad not be in place and I leak. Also put a big towel and tuck it in the sides of your bed like you would a blanket. (I say a big towel so that you CAN tuck it in-a washcloth is no good! I say to tuck it in so that it doens't move out of place while you sleep and dark colored would be best in case they 2 underwear and pad trick fails and you have men in the house. I know that I wouldn't want a guy seeing my period on say a white towel!)

Yeah and don't wear a tampon to bed. Thats super bad.

Hope I helped!

I wear a thick night time pad, with a panty liner stuck up the back of my underwear (sounds weird but it means if any blood goes up the back of my knickers, which it usually does, it just goes onto the seperate pad). I also wear two pairs of knickers and you could put a towel underneath you. You could wear a tampon and a pad, but make sure if you are going to sleep for longer than 8 hours, you set an alarm for 8 hours after you put the tampon in so you can get up and change it.

To everyone shouting about TSS, you can only get it if you leave it in longer than 12 hours.

Wear a heeavy flow pad and a tampon. Also, if you want to be safe always use old sheets and possibly a soft towel?

Read the last bullet point on the source. It CLEARLY says you can use them overnight on the OFFICIAL tampax website.

I get this too. I use a slightly thicker pad at night and also I make sure it's longer. I haven't had a problem after I started that. Good luck. And tampons aren't good at night, just so you know. If you don't wake up to change it, it could be bad, depending on how heavy your flow is.

Yup, like the 1st answer said, tampon AND a pad. I have the same problem. I can go through 3 of the "super plus" tampons in a night, easy.

Like the 1st person to answer, I'm over 40 and have been using tampons forever. It's not a health hazard so long as you change them regularly and never use one more powerful than you need.

yeah...umm...you shouldnt be calling me thing like a hypocrite....*****!! get a life and if you dnt like my questions then dont answer them!!!

Learn to chose tampons of good absorbing action.
Regular heavy bleeding may make you anemic, pl. see a doctor if any BACTERIA Is present.

I use to wear heavy flow night pads especially during the 1st few nights as its always heavier.

I would put on my good old big black/control pants on and put dark bedding on my mattress.

Also,..a good tip would be to put a protective plastic mattress cover on first before you put you're valance on the bed.

That way if you still end up leaking on the bed sheets,.it won't go through to the mattress!

do not use tampons they can cause TSS....better use a heavy flow pad and absorbent sheet, this will pervent your bedcover from getting stained

Buy a night safe pad.
for heavy flow type.

i hope it may help...

Use a tampon and a pad and if you wake up, change both in the night. TSS is only a problem if you keep it in over 12 hours - overnight is fine

Sleep on the floor.

Wear an extra pair of pants.

Ignore Sunshine. NEVER SLEEP IN A TAMPON. You can get TSS. They sell night pads that are supposed to have extra coverage and absorbency. Buy those and you should be fine. NEVER EVER EVER SLEEP IN A TAMPON. EVER.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE FIRST ANSWER!!!!! NEVER GO TO SLEEP WITH A TAMPON IN!
