All you can do is slowly get over it. i was depressed for about five months i didn't eat sleep or talk to anybody. i found out i was really hurting my body. I came out of it slowly. Just remember it can always be worst. It get worse before it gets better. just smile because you know somebody loves you.

Do you thing it is a chemical imbalance, or just a feeling of despair, meaning that you think things cant get any worse.

Things usally do get better, sometimes just when you think you cant take anymore, it will get better.
If it is chemical, they have some great drugs now days to help with that

try not 2 think of the problem . find a distraction . talk 2 sum1 that understands in have gd advice or talk 2 a doctor if it gets worse

i suggest talking to a therapist or councelor... they can usually help

You could take an antidepressant, see a therapist, or talk to a trusted friend. Or you can email me if you're really desperate, but I suggest the first three options. :P I hope you feel better! :)

Getting rid of depression is not as easy as getting it. Some ways that are out there are cognitive behavior therapy which is usually done through a therapist or trained counselor. the other is through medication, which more times than not just "numb" your emotions..... you aren't depressed, but you aren't undepressed either. More or less, an emotional zombie

Depression just does not simply "go away." You need to see a psychiatrist who will prescribe an anti-depressant for you and then you need to see a psychologist who will let you talk and help you through your problems. I've been in therapy for 2 years now. I'm a lot better, but the drug companies and doctors are a lot richer! However, my psychologist is the epitome of kindness and has helped me tremendously.

Go! And good luck.

Are you sure this is depression? How old are you? Maybe it's your body trying to balance hormones but with your problem stacked up with the hormone changes. That's happening to me, but trust me it GETS A LOT BETTER. Try talking to your mom, thats what I did and she helped soo much.

Maybe you should try some yogic breathing exercises. It increases your oxygen intake and helps tremendously to get rid of depression:

Depression is very often caused by a chemical imbalance. You need to see your doctor if your symptoms are ongoing (longer than 2 weeks). He can prescribe anti-depressants that should help with the symptoms. You need to do this NOW before it gets worse. Those who are saying it takes time, you'll get over it, you get out of it just as easy as you got into it clearly do not understand depression. It does not work that way. It is nothing to be ashamed of.
