Question: I have a really strong vaginal odor that worries me. Even my partner has mentioned that it smells bad. I mentioned it to my doctor ,when i went there last. And she said it smelt normal. I keep clean and the smell will come back. I can even smell the odor through my clothes.Feels like the odor seeps into them too.

The vagina is self-cleaning. It's normal to have your own 'scent' (musky) and it will smell stronger to you than to others.

It can be effected by what you eat, drink, illness, meds you take and stress. It's odd that your doctor didn't notice the smell if both you and your boyfriend have noticed it. Maybe get a second opinion.

Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva

Signs of trichomoniasis
A watery, yellowish or greenish bubbly discharge
An unpleasant odor
Pain and itching when urinating
Most apparent after your period

Are you using feminine deoderant? That might help...

ask your doctor if there's anything to get rid of it. you could try to wash it with a dove body bar, not scented!
good luck!

Maybe your just imagining that you smell an odor. If your doctor says there is nothing wrong well I guess all you can do is to douche every once in a while and try a feminine spray or powder to sprinkle or spray on your panties and outer vagina area.

it may be normal for your doctor but bad for you, take a course of antibiotics and antifungal medicines and insert vaginal tablets at night. the medicines have to be taken by your partner also.

if your doctor said its normal, then it must be...
all women have a certain smell to them. try washing in the morning and again at night, with body wash.
there are also special washes specially formulated for that part of the body that you can buy in local supermarkets or chemists, i am pretty sure. .. at least you can in australia, and america is supposed to be even better than here...

Sounds like Vaginitis. (not a doctor here, but a trained medical assistant)
Your doctor sounds like a quack. Anytime a woman complains of pain or a smell in her vaginal area, a full and thorough check should be completed.
Most likely what you have is corrected easily by antibiotics.
But judging from the description of the smell, sounds like Vaginitis.

another solution may just be that "not so fresh feeling"
A persons body changes every 7 years, and sometimes it can affect things that you never thought possible.
(sudden allergies, growths, etc)

Many other questions are required for this though
Do you douche?
Do you have unprotected sex?
Any stds?
the answer may be in a bottle of summer's eve. Available at any drugstore/supermarket

But I would think twice about this doctor.
For someone you only see a few times a year, he is supposed to inspect this area thoroughly.

if they don't bother u, then wear scented pads and go find another doctor to perscribe something!

When you told the doctor did she take a culture of anything or check to see if you may have a yeast infection. Not all yeast infections will be itchy or fishy smelling. Also this could be cause by medications you may be on including vitamins if your partner has an infection or you had a yeast infection at one time and your partner got it you can give it to each other back and forth and both of you need to be treated. Aslo antibiotics can cause infections for women. It could also be something you are eating or not drinking enough water tight clothing in this area all the time can also cause this problem. I would advise not to dousch this can wash away good bacteria and leaves you more open to the bad bacteria thatcauses yeast infections. Good luck
