Sometimes stress or other normal benign activities cause a delay in your period.

If you have recently lost a lot of weight it could be a sign that you are going through a phase of ammenorhea (lack of period).

The best thing you can do is NOT stress, but keep a period journal. I usually use the freebie calendars that banks and other places hand out, and I circle days of the month that I have my period. If its normal thats all I do, if something weird happens (extremely heavy or very light) I make a small notation.

By keeping track and taking it to your Dr if you have more concerns your Dr. can help answer your questions.

It is actually very normal for teens to have irregular periods. Just track them and if they stay abnormal for 3 or more months or if you start to have extremely heavy blood flow, then make an appointment with your Dr or discuss it with your mother.

At your age its also a good idea to have that dreaded yearly exam done too ~ just to make sure everything is in good working order.

there are things other then pregnancy that can make a girl lose her periods.one is not getting enough nutrients like in girls that may be anorexic or bulimia.one time i missed mine for 3 months and it was all do to some type of infection that i had. you should see a doctor.

It can be completely normal to miss periods. It could be due to stress or diet. I used to miss all the time. If you feel something might be wrong go for a pap at the local planned parenthood. But in my opinion there is nothing to worry about.

stress, changing your diet, etc can change your period. if you are underweight, your body recognizes that and stops your period.

It is normal to skip or be late as long as you have not had sex. It happens when you are young and some people are never regular. I am a nurse.

Its just an irregular period. I had started my period at 14 and after the first month, I hadn't started for another 4 months, I was starting to panic, my Mom was aware, I was still a virgin as well, all the sudden it started out of nowhere and hadn't stopped from that point, except maybe 1 or 2 times. Its natural in most cases but if you are freaked out, I would suggest telling your Mom and consulting a Doctor to ease your mind.
