I just got my tongue pierced last month and the white stuff is normal. You're also going to see it on top of your tongue, down in the hole.

Listen, when you eat, stick the food in the back of your mouth, try not to let it get on top of your tongue, after EVERY meal rinse your mouth with 1/2 Listerine (preferably a mouth wash with no alcohol) and 1/2 water. Okay? Mix half mouth wash and 1/2 water. ANYTHING that goes in your mouth you ALWAYS rinse with the mouthwash mixture. Don't touch with the barbell, or anything. That's all you need to do.

Good luck....don't worry about the white stuff, the pain, and whatever. It took my tongue about a week and a half to heal.
I read on a website that it's close to impossible to get an infection in your mouth from a tongue piercings because there are things in our mouth that constantly kill the bacteria.

Its probably infected, which needs to be taken care of. Infected tongue hole can be really serious.

Well have you been properly taking care of it? I know that it stings like crazy, but you need to dip your tongue in Listerine at least every 4-6 hours for the first 2-3 weeks. You need to not let food get stuck in the hole, so you need to rinse your mouth out after everything you eat. Take care of it. You could be at the start of an infection.
