Try www.baby2see.com it has a free online ovulation predictor...

Two weeks after your last period. You will have a egg white cervical mucus. It usually last a week and the mucus will get less stretchy and drier near the end. Its not 100% safe to avoid dear. Eventually she will get pregnant. Just use a condom or if she hates that and like bare back get a IUD or get on the pill. You dont always need to use a condom and the pill. I used only the pill and a IUd eventually and I never got pregnant. As long as her partner is clean and trustworthy also.

its not dependent on your last cycle but on your future cycle. So if you are normal you can predict it easier. most people ovulate 14 days before thier next cycle, but that can very a little between people its usually the same each month with one person. (i will always menstrate 14 days after ovulation, but someone else is 13 days after). In people that don't have normal periods its the time before ovulation that changes.

You can check when you ovulate by checking daily your secretions. Just touch the opening of your vagina with a finger. Then touch that finger with your thumb and slowing separate the two. if the secretion sticks together then you are ovulating (kind of like caramel would form a string between the 2 fingures, but oviously much less sticky like consistency). if it doesn't then you aren't. and avoid sex when its sticky. But keep in mind this isn't a very reliable method, especially if you aren't doing it correctly, so look it up on the internet.

This site has this method and other natural methods:

14 days before day 1 on cycle
