tampons absorb moisture. if you don't leave it in long enough for it to absorb the blood from your period, it's still dry and hurts like hell if you take it out. try another one - leave it in for at least a few hours. you can tell when it's time to change because it drops a little bit and you can feel it more. also, the string will start to turn red. wear a pantiliner or something else in case you're a little late. if it's full, it slides right out and doesn't hurt.

Its most likely from tearing or stretching the hymen, its no big deal and you'll get use to it, and it eventually won't hurt.

Lol. It's completely fine darling. You have just inserted it incorrectly. And being your first time using one, you hadn't got used to it nor able to insert correctly as of yet. It's fine, there is nothing in a womans womb which a tampon may harm.
It won't be sore tomorrow, give it some time, keep practising.

its just because your nawwt use to it
nothing is wrong with you
(i read about this in seventeen magazine so is got to be the truth)

You may have used one too big for you. Sometimes it can hurt a little at first but it should not be still sore. The best way to tell if you have it in right and its a good size is you should not be able to feel it once it is in. Other than that i cant help. Hope you get the answers you need

when you put a tampon in, it expands to help soak up fluids. so having it in for only ten minutes and it being your first time may make it painful. some women have a lot of swelling as well which can make it painful. hope this helps a little. Good luck!

You probably just didnt insert it correctly.

I would suggest reading the instructions that come with the packet, or ask your mum or somebody close to you to explain it properly to you.

It SHOULD NOT hurt at all, so as soon as you put it in correctly, you will be fine and get used to it!

Also, make sure you have the correct size tampon! Being your first time, I would suggest a mini or a regular tampon and NOT a super because they are HUGE!

Just remember: Tampons can cause something called Toxic Shock Syndrome, however this is VERY rare. Ensure you change your tampon EVERY TIME you go to the bathroom, and never leave it in for longer than a few hours.

Good Luck! :)

usually when putting in a tampon for the first time you tend to put it in at an angle because of how your hand puts it in. It's nothing to worry about next time just make sure you put it straight in and you'll be fine. Also since it was only in for 10 minutes it probably didn't get too moist and was still dry, causing friction which is why it hurt. Don't worry about it though because that happened to me my first time too. :)

it just cause your not used to it and since you didn't leave it in long the tampon didn't get moist and you pulled it out dry which caused it to hurt.

Nothing to freak over. I'm 43 and I have never been able to wear tampons without discomfort. Some people can and some cannot, that's life. I can still recall the first time I removed my first one. I thought I was pulling an SUV from my privates. After a few attempts I accepted my fate and have lived with pads since.

Its Just from stretching out the hymen. You will get used to it after awhile, because it loosens it up.

Removing a tampon can hurt if it isn't damp from blood. After only 10 minutes a tampon would still be dry and it would not feel good pulling it out.
It happens to me all the time. Try using another one later and this time leave it in for several hours. Which reminds me never go to bed with a tampon in. I attached a link below that explains why you don't want to leave in a tampon for more than 6 hours.

no, it's not because you put it in wrong, used the wrong size.. nothing like that!

You say you took it out 10 minutes later, right? So it was still *completely dry* when you took it out.. so the cotton was sticking to the walls of your vagina and probably tearing the cotton and making it hard to come out.. this happens sometimes, just try to leave it in for atleast an hour, so get some blood on it so it's slick and can come out easier.

sorry for all the graphic detail :/ but atleast now you know the problem! you didn't put it in wrong.. jeez.. idk what all these people are talking about, it's sorta uncommon to put it in wrong.. unless you don't put it in far enough or something..

your muscles are tensing up, so just relax!! Everyone has the same experience the first time! you can use some vasoline to help get it in too!

well if you only left it in for 10 minutes, it would of hurt taking it out after that as it hadnt absorbed any blood or anythign so would still have been rough and scratched your vagina as you pulled it out.
only use them when you heavy and only remove once youve had it in for a good few hours!
if it still hurts then go see a doc if your worried about it.

If you only left it in for 10 minutes, it was probably dry. Pulling out a dry tampon can be painful. It shouldn't be painful enough to where you can't do normal activity. Remember to only use the lightest absorbancy. If you're bleeding lightly, don't use a large absorbancy tampon, this can also make it uncomfortable when trying to pull it out.
