Don't stress it!
I'm 15 too, and I got mine yesterday!
I was afraid to tell my mom too, but you better do it sooner than later.
I said "Mom, I'm a woman now."
She totally understood.
And for your first period I would definitely wear pads.
Your body has to adjust before using a tampon.
Try a tampon next time around.

Hope this helps!

ya u deffinitally need to tell ur mom instead of complete strangers like us haha. um i dont recommend you using a tampon your first period ever. they can be very uncomfortable. there are instructions and diagrams online or on the box if u must use a tampon though. they trick to putting one in is to relax, like if ur freaking out ur muscles down there wont let it go in. also dont oush it straight up... angle it so its somewhere between parallel to the ground and up

Just say "Mom, ya know I got that thing that you put on the end of a sentence!" I did that to tell my friend and im 11! IT WASNT HARD AND IM SOO SHY U ONLY NEED TO TELL HER ONCE!!! MY MOM WAS PROUD!

all you have to do is read the box of tampons and itll tell you how to put it in and all that stuff.

but there isnt any advice that someone can give to you you just have to flat out tell her. dnt beat around the bush or sugar coat it...no....flat out tell her so she can help you.

Well i was 13 when i got my first period and had the same question...you should really talk to your mom or call your doctor because its more complicated than you think to place a tampon in correctly

Just tell your mom. I know its embarrising but you will feel better after. I recomend starting with pads first, and then moving on to tampons. Dont feel stupid on how to put a tampon in. Every girl doesnt know how to put one in in the begining. It will take some practice, and the box comes with instructions. Good luck and congrats!

I had to call my mom at dance and tell her:mommy, something ahppened, well,IT happened>it was kinda embarassing, but you do feel loads better.and to insert a tampon, the first time,im gonna be honast,it HURTS!i told myself never to try them again, then i stole one of my sisters and tried it,and it slipped right in!i was soooo happy!

insertion:get comfortable/relaxed.kinda open the fflaps to your vagina, push the tip of the tampon through the hole to it and push down the large thing sticking out of the tampon.then take out the plastic/cardboard part and there you go!there are also some good videos to help you on beinggirl.com.good luck!

Tell your mom over the phone or in the car that way you don't have to make eye contact. The box of tampons has directions on it that are very good. Nothing to worry about.

if you get a box, there will be an instruction paper in it. It will tell you how! good luck!

ok. so a tampon really isn't that hard there are directions inside the box. but be careful not to keep one it too long it can be very dangerous.
all i can say is put it in,push it up,take off the plastic, and throw it away.
i hope i help if not remember there are directions in the box.
as for telling your mom. goodluck.
i still to this day cannot talk to my mom about issues like that but go ahead and tell her it happens to every girl. x) bye.

I am a very shy person, and I had my period for four months, before I told my mom. It is really embarassing, but you HAVE to unless you want toilet paper as a pad your whole life...

As for the tampons, this guide I got in my health packet helped me from school..

First, look at the tampon. The larger outer tube that holds the tampon itself at the very end is the top
