Can someone give me info about the "pill" for women?!
Question: I am actually male but this is info for me and my soon to be wife. Anti-pregnancy pills, forgot what they are called. Basically I want the "directions" that are on the boxes of these pills. Me and my partner wish to start using them. Also after she starts taking the pill how long does it take to be effective? 1 week? 1 month? Can someone give me the specifics without writing an essay? thanks?

Basically what you do is you start the pill either on the first day of your period or the sunday following the first day of your period. Then you take the pill everyday at the same TIME!!! This make it more effective. I would recommend at least 1-2wks if you start the first day of your(her) period before having unprotected sex(longer if she starts sunday..like 1month or until her next period just to be safe). I would still recommend using a condom any way because no birthcontrol in 100%....trust me I have 5 sister and all of them have atleast one baby due to failed BC pills. But if you take the pill at the EXACT same time everyday you are alot less likely to become pregnant. Hope this helps!
As for brands...she needs to talk to her gynecologist about that because every women is different and some pills are better for some women than others. I would recommend staying away from the patch and shot. I have heard great things about the NuvaRing but have never tried it personally.
