Need REAL Info about Mirena Birth Control?!
Question: I just had a baby girl 4 weeks ago and Im really thinking about getting Mirena, I read up on it but I need REAL info from REAL women who have had it. Does it hurt when it is inserted? What are some of the side effects experienced? Is it uncomfortable during intercourse? The website briefly goes over these questions if at all. Thank you

Hiya, I had mine inserted 4 years ago and it has been fantastic. My periods stopped immediatly...although i know for a lot of women they taper off over a few months. So, have saved a fortune on tampax. It is pretty uncomfortable when it is first put in...like bad period pains, but it settles in a couple of hours...just have some pain killers at the ready. You cant feel it during intercourse...and, as an added bonus, my P.M.T. has vanished...it is wonderful. Hope thi helps. Kate
I first started with the copper iud and had so much pain i was in tears for months every time i menstruated. My doctor switched me to Mirena and my period and pain stopped. I love it!!!! I will be continuing to use it. I only had a little bit of discomfort during insertion. I have had no pain since nor any other side effects.
my mum has one...she had a general anisthetic to have it inserted because it was a bit of a sqeeze...she hasnt had no side effects its a lot better now she dont have proper periods like to use to cz she aint moody anymmore...she seys that it aint uncomfortable and you dont even notice its there.
