You will need to drink a pint of water one hour before the scan - this is so they can get a good view of the uterus and ovaries. You will be asked to lie on the trolley, then you will have some cold gel squirted onto your lower tummy. The probe is then pressed onto your tummy and moved around. It's a bit uncomfortable because of your bladder being full, but that's all. It will take about 5 minutes, then you can go and pee.

Of cause they don't poke a camera inside you sweet heart don't worry.

I had one done for that, all they do is get u to pull ur trousers down a lil and put gell on you then use something that looks like a leg shaver (it doesnt shave you) and rub it over your stomach and it just does it using ultra sound!

no camera - the scanner looks like a small roller and they move it over the area they wish to check. It sends sound waves through your body and these waves become an image that appears on screen - it doesnt hurt and is safe as it is only sound waves no radiation. Before your appointment you will have been told to drink between 1 to 2 litres of water as the water in your bladder helps pick up the sound waves. Dont worry its painless and over in a matter of minutes hope this helps

They put a lubricating cold gel on your stomach then they have a hard rounded kind of thing about the size of an electrical shaver that they press quite firmly on to your stomach it sends radio waves inside you and then they get to see inside in 3d on a tv screen in black and white, it doesnt hurt my 7 year old had her kidneys scaned last year and ive had lots of pregnancy scans.
dont worry about it, its nothing really honest.

No...They putt some gel on the area and use a small scanner to take pictures.
