Question: I started taking Yaz on friday, which is when my period started. Now it is thursday and I still have perios. it usually lasts up to 6 days, but it is so light on the 5th adn 6th day, that it is amost no period... Now it isn't light. it was getting kjnda brown, then it became red again and last time i cheked today, it was brownish again. When is it going to sotp? I feel like it will just go on forever. I know it's only been 7 days, but it totaly messes up my sex life....and this is very important right now. How long is the longes it can go? thanx!

The exact same thing happened to me while starting Yaz. Actually I ended up bleeding for a total of about 9-10 days. Since then I've had no problems and my period only lasts 2 days.

Around day 7 I did call my doctor. She said that it should stop shortly and was probably happening because I switched to Yaz from a higher-dose pill and my body was still adjusting to lower-dosed Yaz. Previously I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen, which has 35mcg of estrogen. Yaz only has 20mcg estrogen. Basically, when I started taking Yaz, it didn't have the amount of estrogen in it that usually made my period stop.

Your body probably just needs to adjust. I doubt you'll have your period for much longer.

I feel your pain... I guess it's all natural. Have you consulted a doctor yet? I would recommend that. Another thing: I wish Charles Darwin went into more research about the female organs...
