Can the pill fail?!

Question: A few days ago, I had sex with my boyfriend. We did not use condoms because I am on the pill and we felt it was safe. However afterward I had an egg white mucus, as if I was ovulating. So I went and got a morning after pill. Is it possible for a woman to because pregnant eventhough she is on the pill? Is it possible to ovulate while on the pill?

The pill is 99% effective when taken CORRECTLY. Visit the link below for other information.

It is possible to get pregnant on the pill. Ovulation can occur while on the pill.

Abstinence is the only 100% effective way to not get pregnant. Take your pills everyday at approxiamately the same time for maximum effectiveness, if you miss a pill, use a back up method, such as a condom.

Yes, it can. It has a success rate of 99%, but there's still that chance...

It sure is, most pills are only at the most 97% effective! The morning after pill is also only 89% effective when used properly so there is always a chance.

Yes.. your doctor should have told you that prior to giving you a prescription. Pills are not 100% effective.

The pill won't protect you 100%. This just could be discharge and nothing to worry about.

Depends on which pill. Some take 30 days before they are in your system good to work.

Read how long you have to be CONSISTENTLY on it before you can have unprotected sex. After that you shouldn't have any problems. Its usually pretty darn effective.

The pill can fail. Nothing is 100% protection besides abstinence or some sort of layer (such as latex).

yes my friend is 4 mos pregnant was on the pill

egg white mucus? Could that have been semen?

Yes it is possible. Always use protection, even if on the pill, is my recommendation.

yes, especially if you're on antibiotics.

codey is a moron
but anyways...
yes but the pill even if taken incorrectly has over 90 percent
efficiency

chances are you aren't pregnant

i missed 1 pill and fell pregnant.

yes...the only sure way of not getting pregnant is not having sex. the pill can fail anytime...your body can actually reject the medication. and yes you can ovulate on the pill...most people dont but some pills make it so you have a shorter and less heavy period.

yes it is possible and it happens more than u think what i would do is wait a little and then test if u are having some symptoms, but i got preg on bc so just dont try and stress to much but good luck

It's always possible, as everyone is saying here. But the chances are extremely small. If you've been taking it consistently on a daily basis and not skipped any, you would likely be OK, and with taking the morning after pill, you should have nothing to worry about.

If you take the pill THE SAME TIME everyday, and you dont throw up or anything after then yes the pill is effective. But if you take your pill a half an hour late and dont use protection, yes you can get pregnant. Also scientist are also saying that of you weight more than 160 the pill is not as effect as if you weight 120...... i have no idea why.

Yes it is possible the pill is not 100% affective. I would say use the pill and a condom just to be safe.

I got pregnant while being on the pill and not messing up for 6 years...... be carefull with everything... nothing is 100%....what a wake up call for me <3 good luck

yes actually 60% of people who use the pill get pregnant anywayz
