Did the depo shot effect your sex drive?!
Question: My sex drive has decresed to moderate to never wanting it at all. My husband thinks it could be from the depo shot. I also have gained 9 POUNDS!!!!! I totally DO NOT feel sexy anymore :(

I had both happen. I've been on Deop for 4 years. Getting an IUD put in next week. It's the hormones that do it. I also had issues being turned on while on depo. I gained weight (I used to be 130, now I'm 150) even though I'm a competitive runner, rock climber, scuba diver and hiker.
If your husband is still making moves on you he still thinks you are sexy, even with the extra 9 lbs. Don't feel unsexy because of that gain.

I had no sex drive while I was on Depo. I ended up gaining a ton of weight. I also had horrible skin, migraines, depression, mood swings, tender breasts, and my hair fell out in clumps. It was all the shot... as it all cleared up once it was out of my system.
It sounds like you should look for a new form of birth control.

I loved Depo...sex drive was up! No side effects for me...but the whole calcium thing made my GYN recommend Implanon (the implant). I love that now, too.
They say the weight gain is about 5lbs/year on Depo...it shouldn't be fast weight gain though.

Yes, I lost mine after being on it for a few years and sex became painful as well. After I got off it, it took about 6-9 months for everythign to be back to normal. My sex drive is back completely!
i just got the depo shot last month well i noticed the samething. i felt depressed because i gained wight and i fell lazy and tired i guess is the shot.
Dropped like a stone.
I got off of it thankfully and am a lot happier on Kariva (pill).
