Was it a miscarriage?!

Question: Back in the year 2000 I think I was pregnant. My perios didn't come on for like 2 months. The relationship I was in was very abusive. One night I got beat so bad my stomach started hurting me really bad. Pains were shooting up & down my back. It felt like I had really bad cramps. I never went to the doctor. i just started taking tylenol to ease the pain. For the next month and a half I bleed. I bleed very heavy. Sometimes it was very chunky and dark red. I thought it may have been just blood clots (like if I had my periond). Then it finally stopped. Next following week I bleed heavy, then light, then heavy again. When it finally stopped I thought it was over. Time had past and I bleed the next month like a regular period. Never once going to the hospital. I know your asking...why...? i wasn't allowed to ( abusive realtionship). Since this happened I can't conceive. Do you think this is the reason why?

A miscarriage (spontaneous abortion) is any pregnancy that ends spontaneously before the fetus can survive. The World Health Organization defines this unsurvivable state as an embryo or fetus weighing 500 grams or less, which typically corresponds to a fetal age (gestational age) of 20 to 22 weeks or less. Miscarriage occurs in about 15-20% of all recognized pregnancies, and usually occurs before the 13th week of pregnancy. The actual percentage of miscarriages is estimated to be as high as 50% of all pregnancies, since many miscarriages occur without the woman ever having known she was pregnant. Of those miscarriages that occur before the eighth week, 30% have no fetus associated with the sac or placenta. This condition is called blighted ovum, and many women are surprised to learn that there was never an embryo inside the sac.

Some miscarriages occur before women recognize that they are pregnant. About 15% of fertilized eggs are lost before the egg even has a chance to implant (embed itself) in the wall of the uterus. A woman would not generally identify this type of miscarriage. Another 15% of conceptions are lost before eight weeks' gestation. Once fetal heart function is detected in a given pregnancy, the chance of miscarriage is less than 5%.

A woman who may be showing the signs of a possible miscarriage (such as vaginal bleeding) may hear the term "threatened abortion" used to describe her situation.

causes:The cause of a miscarriage cannot always be determined. The most common known causes of miscarriage in the first third of pregnancy (1st trimester) are chromosomal abnormalities, collagen vascular disease (such as lupus), diabetes, other hormonal problems infection, and congenital (present at birth) abnormalities of the uterus. Chromosomal abnormalities of the fetus are the most common cause of early miscarriages, including blighted ovum (see above). Each of the causes will be described below.

yes it was

yes my wife had the same problem she only had one child after that she never was able to carry another she kept having miscarriage and every time it was like yours bleed very heavy. Sometimes it was very chunky and dark red sorry for your lost u may also go to a dr and see what u can do so u can conceive again

baby dies in the womb, sometimes in times of serious stress your body will spontaneously abort the fetus to save itself

you should go to the doctor. by law they cant tell any of their information. so if you tell them what happened they cant tell the cops or anything. so just go to the doctor and talk to them. or call a hotline and be anonymous.

Does he beat you because he loves you?

That's a question for a Dr. and even your Dr. may not know.

idk

but that sound terrible i feel sorry for u

and i think a miscarriage is when the baby dies while your pregnet? :(

umm,...idk
but i am wondering what a miscarriage is too

Yes, that could be the reason.
you should speak with a doctor to see if there's anything they can do.

It's really tough to say without a thorough workup including pelvic ultrasound and at least a sonohysterogram.

Are you still in that relationship? If not you should probably go to the doc, and see what they think. It sounds like not only a miscarriage, but you were hurt too. Because my miscarriage didn't last that long.

Yes,it was probably a miscarriage.I dont think thats the reason you cant conceive. You may just be trying to hard.TRUST ME when the time is right it'll happen.Just enjoy the time you have for yourself now.Go out and hang with friends,HAVE FUN!!Being a parent is hard work BUT i dont say i regret it...NO!!! I DONT!BUT enjoy the time you have. You'll have baby when God deems it right for you to have one,Dont worry!(Stress also causes miscarriages). Also,i hope your out of that abusive relationship...Guys who hit woman are so pathetic!

Good luck sweets!

Aliyah

sad to say yes i went through that i was pushed down some steps when i was 16 but i concieved when i was 18 and have a 3 yr old

yes i think it was

Hey gurl...when I was 20 years old(7years ago) I had what was called a missed miscarriage....long story but I was pregnant(date rape) and I tried to ignore it. One morning I woke up outta my sleep with pains and cramps...similar to menstr. cramps....I spent sometime on the toilet, and there was blood and I kept throwing up. Shortly thereafter, I went to the hospital...and I was told that I had a missed miscarriage...I know it sounds strange but they had to remove the "fetus" from my body...basically the baby had stopped growing inside of me, but it was still there. Wow...i had forgotten about tht.

I'm sorry to hear about that! I hope that you've been able to get out of the abusive relationship that you were in.

To me, it does sound like a strong possibility of you having had a miscarriage! Everything you described are the symptoms.

Please try consulting a practitioner though, especially if you're trying to conceive. There may be an answer to your dilemma.
However, women experience problems conceiving for many different reasons, but go to the doctor, and let them tell you the problem and the solution.

Best of hopes to you...
