dont feel too bad, i'm also 13 and live with my dad! but i managed to learn how.. you'll get it! just try kinda squating down with your legs apart a bit and put it in there at and angle like toward your lower back..! [p.s.--do be really nervous, or you'll be tense and it will be harder to get it! just relax and go for it.] if you cant seem to get it, maybe ask a close friend who knows how!! hope i helped! good luck.

if you go to tampax.com theres the instructions there and visuals to help you out

You can talk to your dad. If he is a good dad, he won't be grossed out. I'm sure he is somewhat comfortable with periods.. and perhaps has even seen periods with other women he's been with (sorry, you don't want to think about it). Eventually, you will have to talk to him about it because tampons/pads are really expensive.
There should be a little pamphlet in the tampon box with pictures.
Here you go: http://www.ehow.com/how_1185_insert-tamp...
That should help.

Good luck! Congrats on becoming a woman!

tampons are NOT always easy nor comfortable to use. And they are NOT always safe either because you are prone to get more infections that way if you leave them inside you too long. I'd use pads, much easier. Don't be embarrased to talk with you dad, he knows all about these things too, after all he was married once wasn't he?

you know where your vagina is? well it is the first opening you see when you sit on the toilet well you put the cotton part of the tampon in the front of the opening but not all the way in then you push the little skinnier tube of the tampon in which pushes the tampon into your vagina! thus using a tampon!

1. Use your thumb and middle finger to hold the bottom of the larger, outer tube.
2. Point the tip of the applicator toward your vagina, facing slightly towards the back. The smaller tube should be pointed away from your body.
3. Place the tip of the applicator at the opening of your vagina.
4. Gently push the smaller end of the applicator in until it is completely inside the larger outer tube. This pushes the tampon into your vagina and out of the tube.
5. With your thumb and middle finger still on the outer tube, release the smaller tube and let the strings dangle freely.
6. Gently pull the two tubes out together.
7. Dispose of the applicator according to the manufactuer's instructions.

OK. the first thing you need to do is RELAX!! it will not go in unless you are completely relaxed. You should also make sure you are putting in the tampon at an angle. The other advice i have for you is to stand over a mirror the first couple of times so you can see what you are doing and so you can understand and relax more. If this dosent work then ask your doctor next visit . No reason to be embarresed. i am sure if it really came to it you could ask your dad, he knows what your going thruogh.
If all else fails ask a friend. They dont have to put it in for you they can just talk you through it.
What ever you think helps try! Good Luck
