The Gyn will ask you questions about your age/health/periods. Then he/she may ask you to lie down while they examine your genitals. That is not always nessessary. They will be gentle and respectful. You will have privacy and may have your mom there with you if you like

a gynacologist does many things, they deal with all aspects eg pregnancy, period problems, in fertility, they know all there is to know about fhe female reproductive system, very good if you have any problems, why dont you go? it wont do any harm, you can get a lady doctor if you are a little shy,
