Read those reviews.

I am on Kariva (two years) and have had no side affects.

PLEASE GET OFF DEPO! It causes serious side effects which could effect your life forever. Especially if you plan on having kids.

I'm not sure they would completely go away, but there is a good chance most of them will. Pills are very good at drying the skin up. Now, they won't go away for your interview, so that's a bummer. I would say, go with the pills.

Good luck!

I am probably going to get many thumbs down for this, but here goes...

Anytime you mess with your hormones, reproductive organs, you're running into major complications, no matter the situation. You're altering your body's natural defenses, processes, biochemical flows just by taking these substances. Yes, I mean prescriptive substances as they are still substances.

I am a former Accutane, Depo, Erythromycin, Tetracyclin, Birth control pill user. Everytime I've taken prescription anything, it's fcuked with my system. Especially those mentioned above. Depo was one of the top of those strongest on my list.

Your dilemma, now, is that you want to get rid of the pimples, blotches that taint your skin. Understandable. I couldn't agree with you more as well as see that Depo is the primary culprit.

Your solution: Get off of Depo and get on something else. What? You ask...

That's where your gnyno comes in...

I am not a doc.

I don't know your medical history.

....but I DO know that anytime a person messes with their hormones by taking ANY type of birth control, it causes all types of complications ranging from something as minute as pimples and blotches to heart problems and, in many cases, difficulty conceiving. YUP. You read correctly. Granted, everyone's different as their body's respond differently to different meds, but why would anyone want to risk and find out by experimentation??? Myself speaking, I wouldn't want to put my body through such torment again. Been there, done that.

If you're going to engage in sexual activity, barrier methods plus spermicide solution. If not, stay far far away from all hormone altering substances that will do nothing but harm your body later in life. The studies prove to be so as there are many references on line. I've read enough of them over the years.

If you're trying to skip periods so that you don't have as many, change your eating and exercise habits. This has a profound effect on PMS, irregular periods and other cycle-related issues. Remember: exercise is 75% while diet/eating habits are 25%. In other words, you could eat crappy food but work out, weight lift, yoga, Pilates, etc and still have better health than someone who has a decent diet and not exercise at all.

Also, the number one reason people break out is genetics. The number two is, yup, you guessed it, hormones...AND anything altering your hormones will most likely pop up zits where you weren't ever getting them before. The other reasons that trail the cause of zits are washing too much by getting rid of your Acid Mantle (look it up), wearing foundation/concealer, yes, I said wearing makeup and a very tiny reason is diet, but not much. It's more that allergies to foods will cause hives.

Anyway, I will leave you with this. You have much to research with your gynocolegist and the internet and just be leary of the advice your receive from professionals and use your best judgement. Many a time have a lot of my "professionals" I've consulted with have been wrong about my health and those substances that they've prescribed. Remember, they're working for Big Brother (drug companies) and need to market off these meds.

Take care of your health.

Best,
