yes. it's just the egg traveling down. totally normal.
I don't know about most women, since it doesn't happen to me. But it happens to people I know.

it's called Mittelschmertz. i don't know how many women experience it, but i know i do.
My Lord!!! This happened to me about a year ago and the pain was excruciating. The pain lasted about a week and I had to visit the Emergency Room twice for pain relief. Which by the way, didn't help much. They couldn't even tell me what was wrong. I didn't find out what was causing the pain until I saw my Gynecologist. He said I was ovulating, needless to say, the pain did ease up and eventually went away but I hope I never have to experience that type of pain again. I do need to add that I also have fibroids and I'm not sure if that contributed to the pain or not.
