PAIN AFTER SURGERY is there something wronge?!
Question: i was wondering if anyone had any pointers i had my appendix taken out monday also the pain meds arnt really enough i no the docters say take then for 2 day every 4 hours they ease off of them but it hurts sooo much the 2 little cuts are fine the big one in my belly button hurts ALOOTTT and i have been wiping small amount of liquid-ish off it like with the tip of a q-tip .. i wanted to no if it is uncommon to not be able to go .. also ammont of pain and when after it did you go back to school/work .. how long after could you go back to gym class ..
also some facts about my surgery .. they had an extremly hard time getting into my belly button.. im 16 it was done at the childern hospital .. when the removed the appendix it was not due to appenditous .. when they removed the appendix it was cause of pain that they didnt no what the casue of was (did anyone eles have that) .. thanks

Sorry dear - I can't relate to that exact surgery, but I did have laser surgery twice before and they made three incisions. Two in my C Section scar, and one in the belly button... I do remember the belly button one being a little more painful, but it was definitely not as bad AFTER the surgery as it was before. I had it done on Friday and went back to work on Monday...but yes, I was walking pretty slow still - but was OK. I definitely think you might need pain meds for more than two days though, I sure did!
About the yellow stuff.. I suggest leaving that area alone. Sounds like it's getting infected, and the worst thing you can do is to keep touching it. It may just be part of the healing process, but if it has an odor - i'd call the Dr.
