Period and menstrual cramps abnormal?!
Question: Hello, I have almost 3 year old twins and ever since I have had them my periods have been horrible. Before I got pregnant my periods were only 3 days, start to finish, i had never had a cramp and had my period about every 30 days.. since giving birth they are very regular almost always every 28 days, but the flow is very abnormal.. I know its common to have a heavier period for awhile but it has not got any better with time. I will bleed extremely heavy for about 7 days, im talking bleeding though anything within a hour type heavy, sometimes it doesnt even take that long. then for an additional 5-7 days i will bleed light and spot. Along with the heavy bleeding I also get very bad cramps. About 6 months after i had my daughters i was having pain and they did an u/s and said i have very small fibroids. I also will have increased pain when I use tampons, it feels like my cervix? but I'm not sure.. Any thought on what could be the cause for all this?

So your saying you get a heavy period or 7 days and also spot for 5-7 days???that doesn't seem normal to me... i have had bad menstrual cramps ever since i can remember and i also get migraines with some vision loss...but i do take birth control pills to help with my cramps and it makes my period lighter and a day shorter than it usually is...it is called femcon. and it is a low dose pill. YOU really should make the time to see your gyno because this heavy and prolonged bleeding doesn't sound normal to me.. and the odor sounds like a bacterial infection...they are common and you just need antibiotics to get rid of it.. but dont let it go on too long because it can cause infertility if left untreated...good luck.
Your body went through lots of changes,its normal and will pass.
A pregnancy can mess up your hormones. Maybe you should talk to a gynecologist about birth control for hormonal reasons.
It may be time to see another doctor and get a second opinion. Be sure it's a specialist in OB/GYN. Good luck!
