BCP, Plan B and Pregnancy Test?!

Question: I've been on generic Ortho Tri-Cyclen for years. Went to my grandma's funeral and missed a Friday pill of week 2 - didn't realize until Saturday at 5pm I had missed Friday and that morning's pill. I took them right away, and continued as usual. A full 7 days of regular pills later I had unprotected sex w/ hubby (on the Sunday of placebo pills). Usually I start my period on Tuesday of placebo week. I didn't, so Wednesday I took Plan B (still w/in 72 hours). It's now Saturday of placebo week, 3 days after Plan B. Not sure if it is late enough to take a PT? I don't want a false negative. I'm assuming the period is late b/c I just added more hormones to the mix. Your reassurance is appreciated.

hmmm.....well i know the morning after pill (plan b) works better the sooner you take it, but if you took it w/ in 72 hours you should be fine. i took one once after 48 hours and it worked.

your period might just be late b/c you messed up with the pill. i think it's pretty sensitive that way. i would just wait a couple more days so you don't get the false neg. use your first pee of the morning for higher accuracy. good luck with everything!

Oh yeah. A similar thing happened to me and I didn't a period either. It was because my hormones got messed up. I wasn't pregnant is also what I'm getting at. If you don't have one next month, then it's time to worry. But for now I would think that everything is just fine, and try not to worry about it.

It sounds like you are very careful and acted quickly. From what I have heard the Plan B pill is very effective so you should be fine. You being late probably has to do with the added stress in your life with your grandmother's death, especially if you were really close. I hope that everything works out the way you want it too. Good luck!

You are probably fine specialy secne you took the plan b pill, you just freaked you body out is all. wait till next month if you dont have one go to the doc for a blood test!
