Horrible insomnia with periods... solutions?!
Question: I get very, very bad insomnia for two days before my periods and for at least 2 days DURING periods. I am always soooo tired but cannot sleep and it is starting to disrupt my work. I am 31 and it has gotten worse over the past year. Have seen a doctor. All blood levels are fine, have had thorough health checks and no problem. Doctors gave me sleeping pills, but I do not want to take them as I was reliant on pills many years ago. What is the biolgocal basis for this? Is there a natural way, or some 'secret' to get some sleep during these times?!!!! CBT doesn't help either. Anyone with EXPERIENCE who can help me out here?

Try a cup of Chamomile Tea. It is a natural and safe herb. Drink a cup about a half hour before bedtime, it may help you it does me.

yes yes yess..i have the same prob..i just take sleeping pills
there is nt much u can do abt it since hormones cause the irritability
Maybe during your time of the month, you might just be a bit more stressed than usual etc.
Try calming things, e.g. warm baths and hot drinks or maybe candles and a water bottle before bed. Just to relax you,
this may take the stress away and make it easier to sleep!
xoxo!
well.. try drinking a cup of coco before you go to bed.
but if u really can't sleep so i advise to take the sleeping pills
