I had a LSH (laproscopic assisted supracervical hysterectomy) done in July. I only had 4 little incisions and it was done laproscopically. My recovery was fast and easy. I was off of work about a week and a half, mostly due to the fatigue from having anesthisia. The pain only lasted a couple days. I did have lifting restrictions of 15 pounds for 4 weeks, and no sex restrictions for 4 weeks.

It helped me to have a little pillow on my tummy whenever I wanted to move. Also have loose fitting pants, sweatpants, or something that doesn't put much pressure on your tummy for a few days. If you are given pain meds, take them regularly, BEFORE you feel pain. And most of all obey doctors orders!

If you are having surgery where they go totally through your abdomin, your recovery time will be quite a bit longer with more restrictions.

It depends on what kind you are having and what method they are using.

Your doctor should be going over all this with you shortly. When I had a stent inserted and removed due to kidney stones, the urologist explained everything very clearly to me.

It's a rather big opp. Be very carefull after the opp not to be to brave and start thinking you can do everyting in a few days time. My wife took 2 months to heal, and tuntill today it's still not perfect.

Well it depends on whether you are keeping your ovaries or not. Either way your body may go into a medically induced menopause where you could start getting the night sweats, moodiness, unwanted hair growth, vaginal dryness, etc that comes with menopause. The good thing is that you'll never have another period again. You'll have some pain afterwards, but they should prescribe something for you for at least the first week.

i was sore for a few days after ward but once the staples came out i felt sore but it was not too bad, i think i was completly healed in 6 weeks just take it easy and rest and youll be fine. Im only 34 so i was slightly depressed afterwards but i feel so much better now mentally and physicallyu
