Women, what do you look for in a ob/gyn???!

Question: I am a (new) obstetrician. Things are going pretty well, but I would like to here what people want from their ob/gyn. I am pretty friendly and try to thoroughly inform them of anything that might be a problem and I try to make it a comfortable experience. However, what other things would someone want in their ob/gyn? thanks!

I definitely want someone who will do everything in their power to make me feel more comfortable. Also, I recently had an ob/gyn who made me feel that I was asking too many questions. Someone who makes me feel free to ask any kind of questions I wish is someone I'll stick with. Basically, when you've got a complete stranger poking around your womanhood, comfort is absolutely key.

I like having a woman obgyn, I like for her to be friendly and not awkward. The last time I went to a new Dr. she was very weird and not very personable she said one or two things and left her assistant to do everything else, I was like "hello, what am i paying you for?" Oh, having a comfortable exam room is a plus not just white boring everything.

for me in a gyn. i 1st of all would liek to have a woman. my first tiem getting a pap i was very nervous, but i had a great one who really explained eveything and made it sound like it wouldnt be as bad as i was thinking, people sometimes need tohe comfort and want to feel like you actually care, try to talk to them be at ease and try to make them feel comfortable.
good luck

I would like the OB to not let the speculum go and smack up over my clitoris! Ha, ha...I forgave.

I like a short summary at the end of the exam...like "I tested for...blah blah blah and otherwise you look healthy and normal. Is there anything else you can think of right now? OK, call me if you remember something or if anything comes up"

That's the short version, but basically I like it when the Dr. lets me know it's OK to call about things.

I hate freezing in a room and being forgotten about. I've had to redress and go in search of a person twice. Once, they were in the middle of shutting off the lights and I ended up getting my flu shot in the hallway. (nurse didn't put the chart on the door and nobody remembered I was there!) If I'm going to be waiting with paper clothes on for more than 20 minutes, someone should pop in and tell me how much longer.
