Important Question About Birth Control?!

Question: I started my period on Thursday and it is now Sunday and that means that I'm only 4 days into my period out of possibly 5 days until I am completely done. I recently got 2 months of birth control from my doctor to start, and I am unsure if I should take the first pill today because I'm still on my period. I am confused because the doctor told me to take it the Sunday after I start my period, but she did not tell me if it was okay to take it on Sunday if I were still on my period. So when am I supposed to take it?

Ok, if you start your period on a sunday, you take it then. Since you are already past that I guess, you take it the sunday AFTER the FIRST day of your period, EVEN IF YOU ARE STILL BLEEDING SOME! By the way It will take some time for the pill to adapt to your body, so you may experience some break through bleeding or spotting for a few months. It happening to me right now! Im bleeding but im not due on my period for another week. So dont worry if you continue to bleed for a while. Just make sure you take your pill the same time every day (choose a time that you know you will be able to stick to, like when you go to bed on a school night) I take mine at 10pm and on a weekend I just have to remember, and try not to skip pills! Good luck! x

You can take it right now hun. you are save. It is all good.

Take the first active pill on Sunday even while you are menstruating----making you a Sunday Starter, as it might describe in your booklet provided in the box.
