Another week before I see the doctor....?!
Question: Well, I just found out that I am pregnant this last friday!! We are very happy and blessed!!We took the home test wednesday and it was positive, and then went to the doctor to do the blood test!
My family doctor recommended me to a OB doctor, and I called yet I won't be able to see them for another week. That is the earlies appointment they have.
I thought that this would be different for pregnant ladies. I mean, I want to be sure that everything is ok, and I thought that it would be normal to see the doctor ASAP.
Why does it take soo long? Is that how is going to be throughtout the whole pregnancy? Is that waiting time normal or should I contact another doctor?

Congrats on your news. I think a week wait is just fine to see the doctor for the first time. They are pretty busy and have appts. scheduled. If you want to get in sooner, let them know to call you if someone cancels.
normal. first trimester is usually once a month, second trimester usually 2x a month and 3rd well weekly. believe me, dont get in any hurry cuz they are going to be checking your lower area enough to make sure everything is all right soon enough. enjoy it while you can cuz once you start getting the baby weight you are gona want the baby out to stop taking up all your room in your body and out where you can see and play with the baby.
First off CONGRATS! We are about to start trying. I am really happy for you. Now... I think this is very normal for it to take a while. I had a friend it took over one month to get it. I think this is because the first visit on a pregnancy can take longer. After this, you will be on a regular schedule. Good luck with everything
i found out i was prgnant at 7 weeks seen my doctor right away my next appointment was for the mat hos at 19 weeks then every month till last month then last month every 2 weeks till due date then every week for 3 weeks over due then if nothing happened they induce you after 3 weeks thats here in ireland.. you doctor must think every thing is ok or you would have got a asap appointment
