Discharge (say: dis-charge) is a strange word, isn't it? It means something that is pushed out. Vaginal discharge means the fluid or mucus stuff that comes out of a girl's vagina. She might see it or feel it on her underpants.

About 6 months to a year before a girl gets her first period, her body may start to produce vaginal discharge. This is normal and is caused by the changing level of hormones in a girl's body. This discharge helps to keep the vagina healthy. Girls continue to have vaginal discharge after they get their periods. Women also have this discharge, which continues until menopause, when their bodies don't make as much of it.

Normal vaginal fluids can vary. They might be thin and slightly sticky to thick and gooey. They can be clear to white or off-white in color. The amount of discharge can also vary depending upon a girl's menstrual cycle. For example, fluids tend to be a bit heavier around the time a girl ovulates (say: av-yuh-lates), which is when an egg is released from the ovary and moves into the fallopian tube.

Normal discharge should have a slight odor and should never cause itching or burning. Problems like itching, a strong odor, or a change in color (such as brown, gray, or green) indicate that a girl may have a vaginal infection and needs to see a doctor.

For normal discharge, a girl can wear a pantiliner if that makes her more comfortable. Sometimes the moisture from normal vaginal discharge can irritate the skin. You can prevent skin irritation in the vaginal area, especially when it's hot and humid outside, by wearing cotton underwear and avoiding clothes like tight jeans and pantyhose that don't let your skin breathe.

It is also important to keep your body clean by bathing on a regular basis. You don't need to do anything special to keep this part of your body clean. Just soap and water does the trick.

its normal u ususaly get it b4 ur period comes every month.. soo ur probably geting ur period soon!!

you are going through puberty. the discharge is normal and it is normal to have it before yuo get your period
your period should not be too far behind it but everyone's bodys are different

Yea, your going to get it soon. I usually get discharge before my period...and got a lot before i had it for the first time.
But word of advice...you say you have hair down there...a lot, well once you start to become not necessarily sexually active, but when guys are going to see your area down there...i recommend you wax and/or shave.
:)

Discharge can occur for up to a year before you get your period. So, you will most likely have your period within a year from now.

However, discharge is usually yellow and thicker. Everyone is different though. Is there a school nurse you can ask?

sounds like you are going to be starting really soon.

lol,are we twins?
im 13, same problem, same height, same size. :L
but yeah
idk either lol.
ive had it for ages, still dont have my period thoughh!

I'm not too sure when you'll get it, but from the sound of it, it will be soon. So be ready to get it. You might wanna carry around a pad or something in your purse, just in case you get it when you least expect it.

dont stress out. wear a pad often and you will be fine. you sound like you are ready to get it. if you wake up with cramps and fatigue then you know that your period is on its way. just calm down and wear a pad. its part of growing up.

you will get your period soon very soon thats what happened hair in your privites means that your period is coming soon.Another provement is that when you get your dischage that means get pads and whatever your periods on the way.

why dont u try wearing a thin pad/kotex .its most likly ur hormones since ur getting older ur body changes, its normal.

Congratulations! You are going through puberty!!
It is PERFECTLY normal to have discharge, clear, whiteish, even a little bit yellow. (but if it is REALLY yellow, or green, or blue, it is probably not a good thing).
Everybody is different, some girls are well into puberty before they get their first periods. It may be a while before you get it, yet.
Just hang in there and don't worry about it! If the wetness is uncomfortable, you can buy pantyliners to place in your underwear on the yuckier days. They can then be thrown in the garbage afterwards.
Meanwhile, enjoy the process that your body is going through! Its an exciting time when your body changes from that of a girls to that of a young womans!

Girl, Discharge is normal im 13 too but i got my period at 11.
Ur period is coming very soon maybe like in the next 2 months!!

id say within the next month
