I started taking birth control. now when will my period come? Can I skip it?!

Question: I started taking Linessa28 on Sunday, March 30. I started my period on Thursday, March 27th, and was told to start the next Sunday. It's now April 15, and my period would normally start on the 19th(28 days), which is this Saturday. Will this change because I started the pill, or will I get it a different day? The thing is, that I CANNOT have my period during April 26th. Should I expect to get it saturday or sunday, in the hopes it won't be there on the friday? Or should I skip my period, so I get it later? If I should skip it, how do I do this? Is it safe? Please help me! Anything helpful is greatly appreciated. My Main thing is not having my period on April 26th.

Your period will usually start during the first couple of days of the placebos (the 7 pills at the end of the pack that are a different color), which for you should be Sunday, April 20 (three weeks after you took the first one). If you want to skip your period, all you have to do is skip the placebo pills -- finish taking the 21 regular pills on Saturday, March 19, throw away the 7 placebo pills, and start a whole new pack of regular pills on Sunday, March 20 (you may still experience some bleeding around that time, though, since your body isn't totally used to the new cycle yet, but it should be a lot shorter than a normal period). Finally, just in case your gyno didn't tell you, BEWARE -- birth control pills take a month or so to become effective, so make sure you use condoms during your first pack to be safe.

Didn't your package come with like 21days, then 7 days of sugar pills? those 7 sugar pills are when your period should come

You can try to skip the placebo week and immediately start a new pack, but when I tried this I eventually ended up getting a really LONG period the second month.

If you started March 27th, then in that 4th week expect to get your period, I get mine the Thursday of the placebo week.

Okay, your pill package has either 21 or 28 pills in it. If it has 28 then most likely there are 21 of one color and 7 of another. If it is this way, then the 7 pills are probably inert (meaning placebo) to keep you in sync with taking the pills on a regular cycle. If you want to start this weekend stop taking the reegular pills it by Wednesday or Thursday and start takiong the inert ones. If you want to skip your period do not take the inert ones but keep taking the regular pills for an extra cycle. No, it won't hurt you to do this. i would not do it regularly, but I actually knew someone who had hormonal issues and the doctors had her doing this most of the time.

Your period should start between the 22nd. and 24th..
