Every girl has a different period experience, and it can change over time.
When I first got my periods they were light and I had no cramping at all...it didn't hurt. I honestly had no warning signs (or at least I wasn't aware of them) prior to my first one. Now I usually get mild cramps and mood swings a couple of days before I get my period, but the pain can be controlled with a little motrin.
Usually if you've begun puberty (breast development, pubic hair growth, ect) and you've noticed you've had vaginal discharge you're not too far off from having your first period.
cramps, bloating, it doens't hurt just its annoying.
Your period is pain-free, unless you have painful cramps, which really hurt but you can drink lots of water so they go away.
Some signs of your period are, cramps, bloating and discharge.
You don't know for sure when you'll have your period but around the time when you start getting some signs of it.
