Yeast Infections, Antibiotics, and Periods. Everything happens in threes.?!

Question: Yeast Infections, Antibiotics, and Periods!. Everything happens in threes!.!?
On the 10th of April I got strep throat for the first time and was put on the antibiotic Penicillin!. Well, Penicillin gave me a yeast infection a few days ago, which I dont get often but have had before!. Usually my yeast infections clear up on their own but this one is particularly stubborn!. I ended up giving it to my boyfriend!. So I went out and bought Monistat 1 which I inserted about 5 hours ago!. But my wonderful period showed up mid afternoon so now Im confused, sore, pms-ing, and sick!.

I have a few questions regarding all of this!. At the top of my list is tampons!. My leaflet for monistat says that I should not use tampons until my symptoms disappear to let my the medication work and that use of tampons within three days will make it less effective!. Has anyone actually used tampons and still had the treatment work fine!? Pads are a bit unconventional for me!.

Should I continue my antibiotics, my strep is gone and the pills are almost finished anyways!?

Thanks for your input!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Step throat is very serious and you should continue with your antibiotic !. Although you feel fine, the infection my not be completely gone!. You don't want it to come back or even worse turn into something much worse than step throat!. So finish you meds!. Often time when you are taking antibiotics you will get a yeast infection!. DO NOT USE tampons with a yeast infection or while using the medicine for a yeast infection!. If you do most of the medicine will be absorbed in the tampon and not in your system!. Actually, the monistat isn't as effective while you are having your period!. If your yeast infection continues, you should contact you physician to see if you can try something else!. Good luck!. P!.S!. You said your boyfriend contracted the yeast infection, I hope you're practicing safe sex!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
