Take a warm bath and afterwards put a heating pad on your pelvis!. I also find that during the very, very painful cramps that deep breaths help with the pain!. The key is really to relax!. Prop your feet up above waist on a pillow while you sit on the couch!.

Lightening the flow is something you will simply have to wait for!. Its going to take your body quite a while to sort itself out!. I was in the same situation as you until I was about 19 and then it started to get better after that!.

I found the cramping was especially painful because I had a great deal of clotting ( the intact parts of your lining in your uterus that come out of your body)!. I found if I wore a pad, instead of a tampon, that seemed to help!. I was also getting constipated ( i'm not sure why) while I was on my period, and that just makes it even worse!. Try to make sure you eat lots of fresh veggies, fruit and fibres so that you have regular bowel movements!. Why be even more uncomfortable, right!? :)

If it is unbearably painful, see your family doctor!. She/he should be able to give you suggestions to help minimize your discomfort!.

Dairy and chocolate seemed to make the cramps worse, come to think of it!.

Good luck, and I know it sucks!. Don't ever be embarassed about your period!. It's completely natural and if someone gives you a hard time about talking about it, then that person needs to grow up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can use a heating pad for cramps at night!.!.Lowering your salt intake and drinking more water might also help!. I dont think there is anything you can for lighter flow, but maybe birth control pills, since you are having a tough time with them being so bad!.!.You should talk to your parent about the pill, they help with the pain and the length of time your period last!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ughh!.!.!.i kno how u feel!.!.
i always use pain killers!.!.!.motrin (or tylenol, advil, or anything else thats used as a basic pain killer)!.!.it gets rid of the cramps so then its not bad dealing wid da heaviness

oh n i also heard that its better to walk arnd in stead of lying around in bed!.!.even tho ur practically dying of pain!.!.its just better to get the exercise!. Kinda lyk wen ur pregnant!.!.the more walking around u do (within limits obviously) the easier it is during the actual delivery

Hope that helps n gud luck wid ur next periods!! : )Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is nothing you can do about they flow, but it does get lighter as each day goes by!. midol should work, but if it doesnt, try a different brand PMS medication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It isn't necessary to go through such pain and heavy bleeding in this day and age!. It was common when I was young, but there are much better treatments now!. You can take hormones to eliminate the pain and heavy bleeding!. You should have your mom take you to your doctor to have an exam and to prescribe pills to eliminate this!. Also, find out if your mom or any women in your family have or had fibroids!. The fibroids can cause heavy painful bleeding!. Mine got so bad I had to have a hysterectomy in my late 40s!. There is no reason why your life should remain so miserable at such a young age!. I have two nieces who went through something similar while in highschool and they were prescribed pills that practically eliminated their periods and completely eliminated the pain!. Hopefully your mom is sensitive to this problem and if the first doctor doesn't help, get a second opinion from a woman gynocologist who will often be more informed than a man doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
