I've had my period during important events in my life too and it's actually not a big deal!. Sure you'll still feel uncomfortable but what I do is to forget about it and enjoy whatever I'm doing!. If you're wearing a dress, or a skirt, my period never leaks through one, unless I sit down for like, a really REALLY long time!. Buy some of the thick, long pads- they help!. The thick part is important because when I used a thin long one on my last period, it still leaked through!. And if you can't find thick and long, our school's nurse told me that you could use two thick ones together, even though it might feel silly!. Or you could put some toilet paper too, it actually helped me as well!. If you're afraid you might get moody during your prom, just try to stay calm and cool and control your actions!. Stand instead of sit if you can and if you feel like it's leaking or that it goes through your dress, ask a friend to look for you (I mean, ask a friend to look at your dress if there's blood)!. When you need to change it, just politely excuse yourself and go to the bathroom and change!. The possibilities of it leaking down your legs are very slim, but that's my opinion since it's never really slid down my leg before!.!.!.!.!.!.

You could wear leggings or shorts under your dress just in case and if people see it, then just say it's your own style!. Most people in my school are mature and when they notice a girl has her period, they don't flip out or anything!. If anyone notices or can tell that you have your period, they might not say anything and don't be embarrassed- it's not like it's your fault that you get feminine problems! And sometimes, only mature poeple notice, and when they notice, they don't make a big deal about it!. Like in my school, my band/ computer studies teacher can tell when I have my period or not (very weird, I know, and scary) but he doesn't make a big deal about it and doesn't ask me what's wrong, which makes me feel better, and get's my mind off it!. And some of my classmates can also tell and they don't flip either!. There are some very mature people out there!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

On your prom night, tell a friend about your problem, so they can help you in any way that they can!. Dancing is like excersize and that helps the period feel better!.

I hope I helped and if I didn't, which I doubt xp, I'm sorry! =)

Have an awesome prom!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you should try to use tampons!. I usually don't wear them unless I have an event like prom or something that I want to feel fresh and clean for!.

If you don't choose to wear the tampons!.!.!.!.the person would have to be feeling you up in order to feel your pad, i wouldn't worry about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If I was you I would wear a couple pair of knickers and then a pad and then you will feel protected it won't run down your leg as you will have a pad on for protection, also just goto the toilet before you have your first dance just to make sure you are ok and just to check to see if you have started if not, then your laughing bags!.

have fun and good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

unless your dress is really loose, you dont want to wear underwear bc of panty lines anyways!. You need to learn to use tampons sooner or later, might as well be now! They're really not hard to use!. Get some with a plastic applicater and put a little mineral oil on the part you insert (the plastic, NOT the tampon) if you're still nervous!. Should glide right in!. Dont be afraid to ask your mom for help, eitherWww@Answer-Health@Com

tampons are so easy to use and i think you should try them out!. you'll feel like you don't even have your period!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try wearing a pad before the dance, and put your dress on to see if you can see it!. (you shouldn't be able to btw) And unless you have a REALLY thick pad, the people you dance with shouldn't be able to tell that you're wearing on either!.

You're thinking way to far into this, it's just another period not sudden death!. Don't do the spandex thing, because then you won't be comfortable and it will probably ride up and you'll have to keep adjusting it, and it would be a pain in the butt to go to the bathroom!.

And tampons don't take that much getting used to, sure putting them in can be challenging!. But other than that, it's fine!.

Have a good prom, period or not! Don't worry about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

wear a pad, and the small pair of spandex!.!.!.!.you should be fine!! to be on the safe side, get a really big pad (like, the extreme heavy flow ones)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If your pads are the right size, they won't be felt and definately not seen, but if you will spend all night worrying about them and not enjoying your prom, then try to consider tampax!.
If you have never worn tampax before, then dont worry, try them!. You are welcome to email me private and I will give you advice on 'how to' etc, no problem!. Its very natural but not the sort of thing you want everyone to know about!
Spandex will make you hot and uncomfortable!.
I assume you are usa!? I'm uk and know the doctor can prescribe a pill to delay a period for just a few days!.
Either way, have a FANTASTIC NIGHT!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tampons would be great!. Start out with the Tampax Pearl Lites until you are used to it (don't ever put them in unless you are menstruating)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
