Question: Have you ever gotten a pap smear and if so was it painful!?
I had my first pap smear over a year ago and i could never forget my experience there because i actually ended crying during/after it!.The doctor was a man and it seemed like he got the biggest,metal clamp he could to do the "procedure" and it actually pinched my tissue in my vagina!.I was simply told to relax!.The clamp was so cold! It was just sad and a tragic experience!.I felt like i had been raped even though it is a standard procedure!.I think the doctor was a pervert though because after he took the clamp out he put his finger in there and pushed up really hard! I think he liked it!.I don't like him!.Is it just me or is it that if you have a tight vagina as opposed to a loose(er) vagina pap smears will hurt or does that not factor in!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am so sorry for your feelings about this experience, but everything you said is completely normal!. A speculum ("clamp") is fairly large and can be uncomfortable, especially if you were nervous and tense, which is why he told you to relax!. If your vaginal muscles were engaged from you being tense, if can definitely be uncomfortable and feel like it is forcing you open!. The exam with his finger is also routine procedure!. He put it far in there, because he needs to check your ovaries, which he can do by inserting his finger in deeply and pressing on your belly!. This is all a part of his job!. There are lots of parts in the female pelvis, and they all need to be examined in different ways!. And as for his comment about things looking normal, that is also something he is supposed to say!. It is actually for your comfort to reassure you that what he is looking at is normal!. I wish someone would have shared all this with you beforehand so you wouldn't be surprised, confused, or offended!. He sounds very professional, and rest assured this is what we all go through when we get a pap!. BUT!.!.with all that being said, if you were uncomfortable, you should find a new doctor, probably a female!. No one wants to have a bad experience with a doc, especially a gynecologist!. If you were just getting a bad vibe, go somewhere else!. Your comfort and ease with the doctor is very important!. You want to be able to share things with them and feel at ease with going to see them when you need to!. Errm yeah!.!.!.!. i think your really just overreacting!. he was just checking you and it had to be done!. i highly doubt the doctor was racist or a pervert!.!.!. he is a professional doctor!!

No pelvic exams and pap smears are Not supposed to be painful or difficult!. There is something very wrong with that doctor and it's a good idea not to go back to him!.
Pelvic exams are awkward and can get a little uncomfortable and feel wierd, that's all!. They are normally over quickly, like 3-5 min!. It doesn't really matter if you are a virgin but it helps if you use tampons b/c you know how to relax your muscles!.

I have had many many pap smears before and I usually was a little sore the next day, and i even had some light bleeding afterword's!. The conversation the doctor made probably was just to try and get you to relax and not be so tense!. You probably tightened up and that is why it hurt so bad!. He felt up inside to feel your ovaries and that is normal procedure also and they are high up and he had to push down to get to check you!. All in all i think you are embarrassed and since this was your first one you didn't know what to expect!. The next one should be easier but please do not stop getting them, if you feel better try a woman gyno next time, they are more sensitive with us than the men are because they know how bad they can hurt!. I hope I helped in some way, I am 58 and have many of them and I didn't find any of them something I would do on a good day, I hate mamograms worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I'm 25 so I've had a few!. The first one was done by a man and he had to pull out the smallest metal clamps he had for me (child sized)!. The procedure is always uncomfortable for anybody!. I'm sorry your experience was so bad, it's not suppose to be horrible!. You can always reserve the right to change doctors!. Pretty much everytime I go for a vaginal checkup the doctor says 'it looks pretty normal', this is because they are checking for things that look abnormal!. So of course they are going to say that!. I think you just need to suck it up, if that particular doctor made you uncomfortable, then go to a different one!. But dont accuse a doctor of being a perv unless you are 100% sure, you could ruin someones career over something like that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
