An disclaimer to everything written below: definitely talk to your gynecologist before taking any advice, be it mine or somebody else's:

My best advice would be to definitely use condoms, whether or not you do end up using birth control pills as well!. The protection from STDs and pregnancy is well worth the investment!. Condoms can be bought pretty discretely and are not very expensive!.

As far as taking actual birth control pills, make a trip to your local Planned Parenthood and talk to them about your concerns!. Many clinics can help you get birth control at little or no cost and can also give you condoms to use!. They are very strict about confidentiality!. Make sure to take the pills at the same time every day to ensure the highest success rate (NOTE: avoiding pregnancy is NOT GUARANTEED, but they still do work well when taken properly)!.

It seems like getting only two packages of birth control from your doctor and then promptly stopping would be a waste of time, since it takes at least the first month to become effective, so you would only have one good month where your chance for pregnancy is lowered (NOT eliminated)!. But, there should not be any adverse effects on your system from starting and stopping the pills in a short period of time!.

I HIGHLY suggest NOT relying on birth control pills alone and using a condom also!. I work with many young adult girls that have gotten pregnant even though they were using the pill or the shot or some other non-condom method thinking they were 100% safe!. They obviously were not!. And, some of them contracted STDs, which is never a fun situation to be in!.

The moral of my story: use both condoms and birth control pills!. The condoms are your best defense from pregnancy and STDs, and birth control is a good back up for preventing pregnancy in case the condom fails!. And, if you somehow became pregnant anyway, well, it would be a crazy twist of fate!. ;)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go to planned parenthood, they offer free solutionsWww@Answer-Health@Com

I don't see how quitting birth control would be harmful to you!. If you don't want to go that route, there are many other methods of birth control!. Just make sure you understand how to use them properly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

So!.!.!.how is going on birth contol being safe with sex!? If you want to be safe, you need to use a condom!. But the other question is: if you can't afford birth control pills - are you really ready to be screwing around!? There's always a chance of getting pregnant even wit birth contol!. And you obviously have no job!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can definitely go to a planned parenthood clinic and they will give them to you for free and it will be confidential!. I did that when I was 18!.
The problem with only taking the pill for 2 months is that it takes a whole month of the pill to even be protected, so really if you take two months you will need to use back up protection for the first month!. Then it will probably screw up your period for a little bit and you will be worried that you are pregnant!. LOL! So if you can't go to a clinic, then it would be smarter to just use a condom with spermacide on it!. You will be protected not only from pregnancy, but STDs, also!. You are 18 and an adult, so if you choose to have sex, it is your business!. Sounds like you are trying to be responsible which is more than I can say for many people your age!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well when you start the pill you have to wait for it to be completely effective!.
the first pill must be taken on the first day of your period (sugar pill),
and other contraception methods must be used for a minimum of 14 days while the pill is affecting your body!.
you have to take it at the same time each day and if you skip one (take it as soon as you remember) and you will have to use other forms of protection for the next 7 days after the forgotten pill!.
so if your only going to be on it for 2 months you will probably only get just over a months use out of it,
u could do it i but it would screw around with your body,
and people have known to still get pregnant on the pill, so using a condom aswell can be even safer =]

edit: and im pretty sure the only thing that will turn up on the health insurance bill will be the doctors appointment (to get the pill), it will not say what the prescription was for, or if her even prescribed you anything!
when i wanted to go on the pill i let my mum know and she payed for the appointment and took me, although i have to pay for the prescriptions!. maybe you could have a talk with you mum if your worried about the bill!. she might be more supportive than u think, im hoping you are over 16 thoughWww@Answer-Health@Com
